GTX 1080 Pre-Orders

Not noticed an employees contributing to the 1080/70 related threads so reckon there's much planning going on ? :D
.....probably a while off yet for pre-orders but I'd be interested especially if they do a special pre-order offer or something

Is it worth waiting for the non-reference versions to come out? I've not really paid too much attention to a new GPU launch before, so I'm not sure of the expected time frame before EVGA, Asus, Gigabyte and co announce their own non-reference versions

They seemed to be saying that AIBs will have aftermarket cards on display at Computex with availability in June

No 1080 Ti version yet :(

The 980ti didn't come out until some time after the 900 series launch. I guess a ti version is something NVIDIA keep up their sleeve for a money milk later (you could look at it as giving time for tech/design to develop to make it worth bringing a new version out).
It isn't clear how a future ti version might relate to the Founders Edition.

1070 sounds like what I may get until vega and big pascal comes out.

But, it would be silly to buy it before we see what polaris has to offer. We should hopefully get all the information we need before 1070 is released anyway :)

NVIDIA seem to be suggesting non-reference versions will available from the get go:
''The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 "Founders Edition" will be available on May 27 for $699. It will be available from ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, MSI, NVIDIA. Palit, PNY and Zotac. Custom boards from partners will vary by region and pricing is expected to start at $599.''
