GTX 1080 ti

about 5 months after the Titans which are about 3 months away. So maybe March time????

Yeah was about to say the same thing. Have the uber expensive card for the tech nutters (I wish I was one of them!) and then bring in a sensible priced option later.

Seems to be Nvidia's tactic to not actually unleash the potential of the card up front, then just unlock it later, when the process has had time to improve.

if the TI is going to bring a 40-50% increased perf compared to a 1080 then it will fly off the shelves again. Especially with it being the first true 4k card. the 1080 just about manages ( according to reviews - don't have a 4k screen yet to test it myself ).

it will indeed but thats 8 months time and I want to play games now thank you :)

And then when the 1080ti comes out, the 1180 will only be a few months behind offering another 20% gain etc......

well, I don't upgrade every year and it feels pretty obvious that if one gets a 1080 TI, one would be safe for several years easy, with no need to upgrade.

Which is what I plan to do, get a 1080 TI, Zotac preferably and keep it for a very very long time :)

When it's necessary. The 980Ti was a reaction to AMD's Fury X, why else would they have produced a card which matched the Titan for 60% of the price?

We won't see a 1080Ti until AMD can beat the 1080.

Because they had a lot of GM200 chips to use that did not make it to the TitanX.

november at the earliest I imagine, depends how fast AMD are,
they want to sell lots of 1080s first since they have a lot of eager customers
despite the excessive price

I also want 1080Ti as it is the first large chip on the new node,
and I am doubting that the 1180 will beat it

980Ti to 1080 was a fair 1 year gap - although I guess moving to 16nm was part of it.

lol. I very much doubt 50% faster then 1080. Do you really think they'll give 50%. Maybe the Titan P. It's all about the milking.

True, but the 1080 gets pretty darn close to that compromise-free 4k60. So a an extra 25% on top of a 1080 should cut it for true 4k.

But of course, the Titan Pascal will come out first and this time Nvidia might not even bother with a 1080ti, they'd rather milk the wallets with the Titan after seeing what 980ti did. Or they'll pull off some BS like Titan P at £1.5k and 1080ti at £1k. The classic: "OMG the x80ti beats/matches the Titan so and so for less money!" illusion. When in reality this gen we'll be paying more for it. Unless AMD's Vega is priced to the point where Nvidia can't be douchebags with pricing.

Pre-order Jan '17, expected delivery June '17, Oct '17 for a Strix.

Eh... close. But I'd guess March/April '17 Pre-order/release, delivery May/June and August for prices on AIB cards like Strix to be reasonable, if not their release. Expect almost a year before a 1080ti is mentioned by Nvidia... if they even do one.
