We've finally got hold of some GTX 285s. The 5000 Series is still the better buy but for those looking for PhysX and 3D Vision it's the highest-end card we've got since 295s seem to be going EOL :(

As I said above the 5000 Series is easily better value. The Nvidia partners are just milking what they can get as the only product freely available at the moment is the GT 240 and below - it's embarrasing to be honest.

There's no point dropping the prices as they don't have any stock anyway. They could all offer us £60 on a GTX 260 but if they can't ship any at that price then they're wasting their breath.

I would have thought this would be a GTX 295 price. Still, there are bound to be people willing to pay that.

Given that the GTX285 is comprehensively beaten by the Radeon HD5850 which was retailing for £230 a £300 GTX285 is laughable but that not the retailers fault but the fault of manufacturer who can't make the chips cheap enough.

I wonder how much Fermi will retail for? :p

My 5770 XFire beats the 285 and 5850 and I paid £224 for the lot!! :D :)

you have read all these smashing reviews of how the 128bit bus does not cripple them and that its max fps that counts not min and that they scale uber in some games and they bench fansatic......
and deep down you really belive it all dont you? :(

PS. I had 5770 crossfire too there gone now
