GTX 295 or...............

From the reviews I have read the older versions looks better than the new low cost single PCB version.

Old Version.
Uses marginally less power
volterra-based voltage regulators - Fixed on new version.
Slightly quieter.

Well DX11 is out late Oct early Nov so im guessing there will be new nvidia's out then so is it worth the wait :s then again theres allways going be somthing new around the corner
 
as a rule only buy a gpu(s) that your gonna use,if your gonna use it buy it...if u aint gonna use it then just wait and bide your time;)

if i was you i would hang out till october 09 to see what dx 11 brings,even if you dont buy dx 11 the prices of the current cards will drop in price which will enalble you to buy one cheaper that n what they are now...i mean i know we are not having the best summer at the moment but its supposed to be summer time,forget about gaming and save your pennies for the autumn/winter release titles that require a fast gpu...summer is a quiet time for games and has been historically since the halcyon days of the zx spectrum,save it for september-december!

Go for gtx 285 sli (x2/x3). The gtx 285 is faster than the gtx 295. Remember the gtx 295 is just two gtx 260's joined together and overclocked.

Gtx 285 sli > gtx 295
Gtx 285 tri sli > gtx 295 sli

A 295 is not two 260 joined togther. It's more like two 275 joined togther. Check out the 295 specs.
