GTX 3070

This was an ACE 700w. 34a on the 12v rail, maybe I had a bad one?

Just had a quick google, and the mere fact that I can pick a new one up for £32 says all I need to know. The PSU is something you really shouldn't skimp on, although I guess you've probably figured this out now :(

Ok. Graphics card swapped for a 2080ti with an additional £90 payable by me to the shop that offers 5 years warranty on 2nd hand stuff. I said it stopped working. Which to be fair it did. Ram is going back to Corsair as it has a lifetime warranty. I’ve ordered a new psu, 1000w Corsair unit. I’ll be up and running soon enough. Thanks for all your help folks!

Thats less than your original PSU.

Also it only has one PCI-E 6 pin connector. So how did you get it connected to your 2070 super.

Molex to pcie splitter.

Just so you are aware that was a 400W PSU labelled as a 700W PSU. I'd be complaining to whoever you bought it from and tell them it exploded.

Should have just used your original PSU

Would have been fine and at the very least would have OCP and OPP to prevent it ever damaging anything.

Also if anyone ever reads this, never use Molex to PCI-E connectors, unless you really know what you are doing. Molex connectors aren't designed to supply 150W and PSU isn't normally built to do that.
