Thank you for shopping at OcUK

sorry to bump this thread, but ALMOST got my refund sorted from a certain white and blue company. so dam long. sooooooo dam long.

im loving my free postage with OCUK, lets hope their GPU prices can match others on the 570s/580s soon!

the fact i can now get a 570 for £250 (MSI overclocked 4200MHz GDDR5, GPU 786MHz, Shader 1572MHz, ref cooler) has made me re-think lol.
gaming at 1080p, are any of these cards going to be better, overclocked AND in SLI than the other? Id imagine the 570 scales better being newer fermi...
hard to find bechies, but will be adding another card in say 6-9 months time. One person sed the 470 frozr may be hard to find in future, that still true?

Offers are...
MSI (OC) 570 for £250
or
MSI frozr 470 for £180?? hopefully may clock close to 570 (msi OC) speeds??
or
480 for £195?? which might even beat a 570 (msi OC) if overclocked?

If you plan on SLI then 570. otherwise i would get the 470. If you are fine with noise and heat, then the 480 would be the best

yes i will be SLIing, also overclocking if i can. i heard the 470 can easily be overclocked to exactly the same as an overclocked 570 though, as the 570 is a bad overclocker.

you rekkon this would be true with the MSI frozr? shud OC well compared to a reference cooled MSI 570 (factory overclocked to 4200MHz GDDR5, GPU 786MHz, Shader 1572MHz).

i have NO idea, all i know is the 470 is £70 cheaper, and it MIGHT be just as fast. you rekkon thats true or no?

seen scaling is VERY good on both cards, often 100%!!! WOW.

decided the 480 will use too much power to be sli'd and mildly OC'ed with my 850w psu:mad: plus noise not good

Just to ask what is it that is causing you so much grief with ati drivers??
I see it all the time and I really dont understand it.

I've had ati since the 4870 and haven't ever had any problems in driver updates and in buying my 6950 recently the only issues i have are the the clocks getting stuck in video mode when trying to game from after watching videos, or youtube.

Running my new MSI GTX470 Twin FrozrII and its idle at 34-35deg, MSI have done a great job on the custom cooler, just make sure that you have good case airflow as the cooler pushes air toward the bottom of the case, otherwise I can really recommend it 100% :D

Well i was thinking of getting one 470 now, another in a few months, not sure if theyll last that long ,like youve said.... MMMmmm.

Theres always a clause lol.

What about a 560 which at £200 has better performance apparently at stock as a 470 (+reduced power draw/temps/noise)? BUT i can find nowhere a comparison between the two cards overclocked against eachother.
The 470 would get more results than a 560 from an OC right? as its got more cores, memory, shaders etc???

what problems? lol have long have you got? problem after problem. some games work with one set of drivers, whereas others dont work at all. Newer drivers actually reduce performance/stabiltity, almost all games experiencing some kind of stutter, sorted by using different drivers that wont run the games at a descent FPS.
the 10.10e hotfix drivers worked for me, but couldn't deal with the stutter.

Ive used ati since 2003, never had any real problems before the 6870.
