Ok as of prices right now on OcUK, the GTX560 is £145, the HD5870 is £160 and the 560ti is £175. I had planned to allocate £150 of my budget towards the graphics card however I then thought that an extra £10 wouldn't hurt then an extra £15 for the highly overclockable 560ti (apparently). Well at this point, I am really struggling and have dropped the aftermarket cooler on my proposed build in favour of the 560ti.
Now however I am looking at AnandTech and it looks like each of the cards are a bit higher in performance in relation to how much more they cost, it is making it very difficult for me to work out which one would be better value. Although the 560 is still not in their benching feature I have checked the reviews.
If you were in my position what would you go for? the proposed build is listed below to help.
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955
Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2 (AM3) Motherboard
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3
Antec High Current Gamer 620W Power Supply
There are also other parts however these are irrelevant to this decision.
I am unsure whether going Crossfire or SLI in future should be considered. Looking at the build, I am expecting (depending on BD, doesn't everything?) that the processor/mobo will be the first to be replaced to be honest so the graphics card needs to be good enough, longer than the CPU.
