GTX 560Ti 448 benchmarks

Please explain.

This has been absolutely done to death on these forums. I'm not going to go into it in-depth. There are plenty of threads that you can read on the issue. Vram is not the big deal it's made out to be, at least not with these mid- to upper-range cards we're talking about. For example, check this out:

^560Ti is on a par with a 2Gb 6970 and beats out the 2Gb 6950 at 1080p in one of the newest, most demanding games out at the moment. You are really not doing yourself justice if you refuse to SLI because you think for whatever reason that 1Gb is not enough vram. 560Ti SLI will eat a single 580 for breakfast:

Ok thanks for the info. Slightly rude reply though. I read on other posts that bf3 on ultra was using 1200mb of VRAM and as the card he had was the same as mine it leads me to think of 2 + 2 = 4 but if you tell me that although ultra uses more VRAM than is available it will still be fine then even better.

Just to state I asked about sli in a previous thread and was hoping that 2 x 1gb would mean I had 2 gig available.

There was nothing rude about my reply. Please evacuate the sand from your vagina. I went to the trouble of digging out benchmarks to help you make the most of your card.

Anyway, BF3 will use more than 1.3Gb of vram if you have a 2Gb or 3Gb card but that doesn't mean that the additional vram usage has any effect on actual performance in terms of FPS or whatever. It will mostly be just texture caching.

Ok you win. I was only stating my thoughts and that is a totally rude answer. Shame realy that you had to retort to that kind of answer "please evacuate the sand from your vagina"

Thanks :D if you think your knowledge gives you the right to be rude then sorry if I didn't think that was fair.

My reply wasn't rude! Tell me what was rude about my reply? Saying, "this has been done to death..." If you take that as me being rude to you personally then you have a very low threshold of offence, particularly when you consider that the whole rest of the post was me providing you with information which was obviously intended to help you out.

Really mate, grow a pair.

I posted my thoughts on my worries of vram not being enough even if I sli. You posted "nonsense" without no explination.

As for any of your other comments I am more than happy to meet up and discuss this. We could come to an amicable soloution I am sure ;)

All good :D

I don't believe there's a right or wrong for the amount of VRAM required on a card, it's just about avoiding bottlenecks.

If you found a GTX 520 with 2GB if would be a huge waste, as this GPU is never go to be able to process data quick enough that you'd need 2GB. Likewise, a storming great GPU such as a GTX 580 is more likely to be running with higher graphical options/resolution therefore you'd not want to (potentially) hold that back with 1GB VRAM.

For the record I believe that 1GB is fine for 1920x1080 gaming at present, with sensible levels of AA and detail applied. That said, once the new consoles and games start coming out, expect requirements to increase!

I beg to differ, when playing crysis 2 on full dx 11
my vram usage is round about 1856mb and that with a 560 ti 2gig playing at 1680x1050
