GTX 660.

If it really comes in at that price, i think it will be pretty decent. Got a gut feeling it will be closer to £200 but I hope not :(

You can't compare US prices to UK. It's going to be ~250 USD, ~250 EURO and I would guess 220GBP for the asus, and 200 reference. UK tend to charge a bigger premium for custom cooled cards compared to other countries. I remember when the asus/windforce 670 came out it was 70 pounds more than reference.. shocking.

Sadly I'm inclined to agree with you :(

Again to expensive for what they offer, 7850's are going to be retailing at around £150 or maybe even a bit less by the time the GTX660 plain vanilla comes out. For the sort of money their asking you might as well get a faster 7870 2gb.

You can get ref 660ti's for ****. Not to much of a jump.

£200+ for a 660 Ti is overpriced. Referenece 7870's are going for £180 on OCUK and I haven't even checked other stores yet.

I just paid an enormous amount for a 660ti, pretty much 10 pounds less than a reference 670. But I wanted the card for its cooler so that's what matters. It also came with 3gb ram which I don't care about :D I feel a bit ripped off but I can live.

Did you run Operation Swordbreaker?

some weeks ago now, but yes. it was 50 FPS if i remember correctly, i might actually run it again to be sure, but on 64 player large vehicle maps i'm getting 60 FPS with the overclock.

i'm actually more interested in the fact that both cards in that review are miles behind the GTX 570 when we know the reference 7870 and GTX 660ti are ahead of the GTX 580.

This is what's annoying... in the US nvidia cards are priced competetively with AMD on release... AMD drop prices to compete... over here nvidia cards are released at US price plus VAT plus another 20-30% and look silly compared to AMD pricing... AMD price drops still make it through the channel

next year i'm just flying to the US to buy graphics cards, clearly

So 47~50... It's in the ball park then. Multiplayer is horrid to benchmark :(.

My understanding is that the 7950 performance was (on release day) just ahead of the 580. Therefore I wouldn't say that the 580 is necessarily behind a 660Ti/7870 now. I know it is in that Tom's review but just in these two reviews you've seen the kind of inconsistencies which apply.

Up on release the 7### series cards were 10 - 15% slower in BF3 than they are now (botched 6### series drivers on release) and a reference 7950 is only 10% ahead of a 7870 on account of its 800Mhz vs 1000Mhz clock.

it adds up as it does in Tom's.

Maybe. I never believe one review though so I'm not convinced. :D

Edit: to be clear the 580 was clearly faster than the 7950 on release (for whatever reasons) in BF3. When I said the 7950 was slightly faster I meant overall. Drivers/overclocking have undoubtedly reversed that statement but I just don't think to the tune of the 7870/660Ti being faster.

Unless someone wants to run the same test on both cards :D

Certainly not by this one, i will as always wait for a bunch of reviews.

What this one is saying is the GTX 660 is the same as a GTX 660ti and (A Lot) slower than even a GTX 570.

No way in hell.

[Edit] searched the HARDOCP database for those slides, can't find them or any GTX 660 review. i eagerly await for a review from them to compare these slides to.
