GTX 760 Replacement

Sorry for possible newb question! When I click the link, the expected product appears. HOWEVER, when clicking 'up' one level to Clearance Graphics Cards... they're not there?!?

somebody just bought it. Thats what No Eta means.

The system does this when a sale item has been sold.

If I were you I would go for a cheap 960 overclock it like mad as they can do 1500mhz you will probably find this is enough for next 6 month+ and see what comes out from AMD and Nvidia and at what price. I would do that if you dont fancy spending £200.

Maybe this one

EVGA GeForce GTX 960 Superclocked 2048MB GDDR5 £169

If you do Spend £200 I would go for the £199 970 at the moment or at least wait till tomorrows change of Weekyl Deal prices it might throw up some nice surprises.

Over the years I've had more AMD cards than Nvidia, so am happy with both manufacturers.

That said, on the used market I know from experience that (past generation) Nvidia cards seem to hold their value slightly better than AMD when comparing like for like performance.

I might go for a 960 in the hope that I'll still get £100-£130 for it in 6 months.

EDIT - any ideas if this is available in green as per image? (text states RED)

The 280 is the best value direct replacement for a 760. The 960 is £30 too expensive, you may as well just get another 760. The 280X is better but a little too close to the 290 in price.

The 290 really has a new lease of life due to its low pricing and how well it is coping in newer games, and 1440p gaming. The 970 is about 10-15% faster but costs 25% more.

So really I would either recommend a 280 or a 290. As for Nvidia cards I don't think there are any good value options now, they are all about performance/watt and overpricing.

An extra £30 will buy a 290 though so no comparison and more than just a slight sidegrade. The 960 definitely has too much NV tax included in its RRP.

Just been doing some research over at TPU... okay, I get you now. The 290 blows pretty much everything else away at that price point.

Might up my budget a little and think about a (non-Powercolour) 290 after all :)

Yeah it's a shame some people are unaware of how much better the 290 is than the 960 for not much more. It's a proper notch up in performance.
