Hi there,

I am trying to get my 780 to output from DVI-I to my 3rd monitor.
They are VGA and i currently have 2 adaptors on it. (VGA -> DVI-I -> DVI-D) the first adaptor was from my old 480 which had 2 DVI-I ports.

Now i bought a DVI-D adaptor, (Dont know why i didnt go VGA -> DVI-D) to go on the end of my current adaptor and i dont seem to be getting any video output. Windows detects the monitor but the card wont show anything.

Is there something wrong with going from I to D? (V to I to D)

And before you guys freak out for me having VGA monitors with a 780, my new monitors are being ordered ewnd of the month when i get paid. (3 x Dell U2414H)

Im not too bothered about getting the 3rd running as the new ones are so close to being mine at last! Would just like the input on why there is no output?

CHEERS! ;)

Can't use DVI to VGA with the 2nd output - if you look at the DVI ports one of them is missing the 4 holes required for analog.

Ah right. I had the thought that the extra 4 were for audio?

So the 4 extra pins are for the analog video output? That would make sense as to why there is no output...

Thanks!

I actually don't know (without googling it) what the extra 4 pins are for but I do know that on DVI-D which has those 4 pins missing you can't get analog video out without using an expensive active adaptor.
