GTX 780 Single Card to SLI

Havent touched the voltage almighty and bios is still the stock one. I can complete heaven at +120 core, (1215mhz) with slight artifacting. At +100 core and +400 mem it artifacts in heaven and resets the clocks.

Running 780 sli here too and love it. Could easily live with one card but I dont wanna worry about upgrading for 2 years hence the overkill. Its awesome running bf4 on ultra with no drops beneath 120 fps on most maps. I use a 120hz monitor so it does kinda justify it.

I have voltage at max, mem at +400 although I've not tried higher

Core is at +300

Do you need precision x to unlock voltage control? Currently using afterburner here. My temps are currently pretty good, 66c max in heaven on auto fan speed.

You flash the card with a custom BIOS and overclock as normal.

Custom BIOS raises power limit to 450w
Increases voltage to 1.212v
Disables Boost

Then I use afterburner as normal.

Litrally takes 5 minutes to do and so worth it.

Cheers, will maybe look into that. Just tried another run on heaven. Passes fine at +100 core/+300 memory. Will upload the result to the heaven thread. Afterburner wouldnt take the screenshot so had to use my phone, now wheres that data cable lol.:D

I'm running stock clocks on my CPU and even when going from 1 to 2 o 3 cards I've seen a good performance increase. In 1200p when going from 1 to 2 cards the improvement was significant. Adding a 3rd card for that resolution only a handful games showed any real gains, but when I went to 1440P the performance of the 3rd card really kicked and and scaling is superb today.

Hi setter, use fraps for screen shots.

Unfortunately FRAPS causes bf4 to crash when joining a game. But ive got ab sorted now mate for other programs.:)

Yep i noticed this as well Setts.

However you could try the latest beta of rivertuner. Wouldn't surprise me if that had something to do with the crash.

RTSS 6.0.0 Beta 4:
http://archive.sunet.se/pub/games/PC...ta4-Guru3d.rar

Changes list comparing to beta 3 includes:

- Updated PNG compression library, now PNG screen capture is supported in 64-bit applications
- Fixed issue in hook engine causing 64-bit applications to fail to start when application detection level was set to "High"
- Updated context help

This is 6.0.0 release candidate, most likely we'll release it as final 6.0.0 soon.

That was the latest ver of RSST that i had mate. Id like to run a few benchmarks in game to compare the 780 to 670 sli, (min/ave/max). But with FRAPS running the game wont even launch now.

Hello, I've been running a couple of 780's for a while now and I could not go back to a single card, frame rates have gone through the roof and although I game at 1080p I'm a big fan of 3D vision and this is where I most definitely see big gains.
I see you have a 120Hz monitor, so I'd say yeah, get that second 780 for sure, you can't have to many fps.
Have you considered 3D vision? It's very immersive and can transform a game so much so it feels like a brand new game, even older games are given a new lease of life. As others have said, overclock that cpu.

This.
3D is amazing if done properly. Loads of games do not look good at first, but Helix mods are real game changer. I game at 1080p in 3d, newer games like Metro Last Light really can benefit from second 780. My single 780 benched in max settings at 24 fps, in sli they pull 47fps. Scaling is game dependent but mostly great.
If I was not 3D user I would be happy with one though. Spare cash I would spent on swapping my monitor with g-sync one. I really expect great things with g-sync after reading initial feedback.
