***GTX 780 Ti Owners Thread***

Well, I received my RMA replacement yesterday and after numerous tests/benchmarks and attempts at gaming it's clear that the replacement is actually worse than the card I RMA'd in the first place.

To say I'm angry and disappointed at the service and product quality is an understatement, and once again it looks as if I'm going to have to pay to return the card and wait to receive a replacement which I have no faith will be any better.

Positive result here. I received my card on Thursday, and an added bonus they used they're courier to send it back to me free of charge.

I received the same card back, Rev1. Report said, multiple chips replace on the GPU. Tests ok.

I have run everything as before, all benchmarks and games that gave errors and everything runs perfectly. I have carried on benchmarking everyday to be sure.

Looks like i was lucky.... So far :)

Yeah, sounds like you've been lucky. There was no report of any kind with my replacement, just a plain black box with a card in an anti static bag. The card had dust on so was clearly used. Honestly I suspect I've got the exact same card back without anything being done, but I didn't take any note of serial number or anything so can't say for sure.

And I'd hope they sent it back free of charge, personally I think people should be refunded the cost of sending the card back as well if they are found to be faulty. A £600 product should be expected to work.

Love the little so far on the end  I hope all goes well

Another few hours testing this morning has further confirmed the same issue is present and games remain unplayable with the 780Ti due to the constant freezes and graphics driver hangs/crashes.

So the 570 is back in the PC, again, and this time I've taken pics of the 780Ti with the serial numbers etc. so I'll know if they just try and fob me off with the same card again.

How desperately disappointing. It does make you wonder at times how well they test these cards, or if they just try to fob a certain amount of people off.

I ended up opting for a refund when the seller tried to pull a fast one on me. Had to raise a dispute to force the guy for a refund. Ended up reporting him to both PP and EB. The seller accidentally mentioned "these cards are a nuisance to get rid of"

Glad to hear you got it sorted Grale, wish it could have worked out for me but not got the confidence in the brand and no assurances that it will not happen again even if I bought a new one. Shame I would have loved card if it worked properly. Have Gigabyte done anything to reassure their customers?

Honestly I'm not convinced any testing was done at all, the "replacement" card actually had dust on it when I took it out of the anti-static bag. To be honest I'm very disappointed with OcUK as well, I expected much better service than I've had.

If I had a spare £600 around I'd buy a different card, but as it is I'm stuck with this card, and another RMA. What worries me is that the same thing will keep happening and I'll end up with £600 worth of rubbish.

Well, card on the way back for the second time, hopefully this time I have better luck. And it does seem from reading similar reports on other forums that it really is luck where Gigabyte are concerned.

Good luck buddy. I hope you have better luck this time. They are an awesome card, when they work!

Can't believe how quiet these cards are. I am happy with mine, however I will keep an eye on mine, esp as it gets closer to the last year of warranty.

Grale forgot to ask you. Before you got it fixed did you have any driver lockups? ie Dixx error, driver fail to respond?

No, I only had lockups without any responce. I had no notifications of driver errors.

My problem was artifacts and lockups in games and benchmarks.

Well I received my second RMA replacement card, this time it was actually a new card rather than a refurbished one.

Verdict, utter ****! Yet again it's actually less stable than the two I've RMA'd already. Not only do I get the same freezes and CTDs within seconds of running 3d Mark tests, I've even had driver crashes and BSODs on boot.

This card is actually clocked slightly higher than the last one as well (1228Mhz @1.175v), so clearly Gigabyte are still trying to push even futher beyond what the hardware can achieve. I've tried under clocking the GPU as much as EVGA Precision will allow and knocking the VRAM down a bit as well, slightly more stable, but still unable to complete a bechmark test.

So say I'm ****** off is a massive understatement.

Time to join the red team Eddie. :)

Or test those cards in a different PC..

If someone would care to supply me with another gaming PC I'll happily do so. But seen as all the problems go away as if by magic when I fit one of my spare (old) cards, and clearly OcUK and Gigabyte are finding the cards faulty on test as well I'll stick with my current thoughts for the time being. I really cant think of anything left to test on my system that hasn't been tested to death already.

And no need to switch to the wrong side of the tracks, I just need a card from a manufacturer that has a QA process, but I can't afford to buy an alternative until next year at the earliest.

I'm sure if these cards were only running at reference speeds they'd be totally fine. There just seems to be no cherry picking of chips to make the overclocked cards by gigabyte, just throw an oc bios on and off it goes.

Maybe I'm just being very unlucky, who knows?

Flack read your thread on the Gigabyte community forum, still no answer or response from anyone ?

Took it back to OcHQ who RMA'd. Overclockers then sent me out a refurb card in 4 days, which has been running spot on for about 4 weeks.

First and last product ill ever buy of of Gigabyte however. When I spend £500+ on a card I expect it to work 1st time round.
