GTX480 Causing Black Ops issues?

What connection do you have for it to take that long!

Some pretty poor one, living 10 mins from the closest town.

85KB/s it's my lucky day.

Makes me wonder if my net is restricted though, it's like perfectly stuck on 56 loads, then some times it can go right up to 90. If it goes to 90 my ping goes up to like 300ms though.

im on VM as well and it sucks ass... im trying to figure out if its the router.. but i cant see it....

silenced why don't you look into a satellite connection?... i dont know if they are poor or not

At the amount of money they cost for the bandwidth usage you get, no thanks, although I'm not the bill payer, but I know for sure my dad wouldn't want that high of a bill.

My friend tells me in another village near the same town they get 200KB/s on their mobile dongle...

The reason I was asking earlier if this happens in only the said game is because it may not be a driver issue? It may well be a corrupt install of Black Ops. Regardless of driver version, you shouldn't be suffering black screens.

If every other game is fine then it's sure to be a corrupt install of the game and reinstalling it would be a smart move, before fiddling with drivers. If you don't have other games to test, try downloading a benchmarking program like "Unigine Heaven" If that runs properly, you can be sure it's the game and not the graphics drivers.

If you have problems with Heaven. Then look to drivers. You are complaining about old drivers still being recognised. You will need to uninstall the old ones properly. There should be a guide somewhere on how to properly uninstall drivers.

Drive Sweeper, CCleaner and safe mode come into play. This ensures no traces are left behind and no conflict of drivers when upgrading to the latest. Especially important when switching from ATI to Nvidia or vice versa.

Your PSU is fine.

Morning all!

Back onto fixing the issue, I'm saving the drivers so I can fully delete them all and not waste any time.

The ATI Install Manager was still located on my PC and I have removed it.

I tried to load NVIDIA's supersonic sled, just came up with errors when in the settings. The Design Garage just crashed when trying to load. I'm thinking it was the move from ATI to NVIDIA that has caused the issues.

I've fully removed the drivers, I'm going to uninstall my NVIDIA ones once downloaded and restart and reinstall.

Another thing I have noticed is that on NVIDIA forums someone says that there are issues with the control panel showing up, and it is caused by dual monitors, so I'm going to install the older version first to see if it works fine then.
