GTX570 issue or PSU issue? or Other?

The 2 first lanes are both x16, and then third lane is x8, I've tried both (second and third lane) and I have the same results.

I don't get paid until the 21st so I'll have to wait until then to buy a new PSU, probs gonna go for the Corsair AX1200.

Thanks for your help guys.

corsair = win, worst case your out of pocket by £15ish for postage, best case = system stable and you have a shiny new PSU thatll last for ages and you can sell your old one for ~100

Ahhh, Just had a crash when using just the new card (no SLI), lost signal to monitor and the fan went nuts.
I thought the card was fine because I ran Unigene for 2 hours...Now I'm thinking its faulty.

After the crash with the new card I decided to remove it and just play some CoDBO on my older 570, however I got the same crash with the old card!.

Its unlikely that both cards are faulty right?

I would have thought that my PSU would be enough to power my PC with just one GTX570 installed..

Everything is at stock, I haven't got a clue what the problem might be. :(

I would say very unlikely that both cards are faulty.

I would recommend seeing if other forum users are near to you to see if you can borrow a PSU for an hour or two or even to see if your cards work in another machine as it could be your motherboard that has 'issues'

My brother has agreed to test out the cards on Monday.

Testing CPU and RAM @ stock atm with Prime95 Blend just to rule those components out.

Its unlikely to be an issue with the CPU or RAM, and its very unlikely that both cards are faulty, that leaves mobo and PSU.

have you got space on your hdd to partition off say 50gb and do a clean install of windows and core drivers, testing software and a game or two?

If both cards work in your brothers machine Id try that with a single card just to rule out driver/windows issues etc. If that then works, try it with both cards etc.

Get some software that can monitor the volts on each rail (with history) and then after a crash look at the results and see if any rail has a spike/drop at the same time.

Prime isnt good for testing RAM, I find it runs fine overnight but memtest will pick up errors (hence why im now running 4gb as im RMAing back a third set of ram ffs).

if its mobo, its going to be damn hard to diagnose or prove that its faulty, as a lot of companies will just set it up, run 3dmark and say its fine, and since you have sometimes managed that, they might not see it fail.
Wish I was closer to you so I could pop over and take a look at it.

Does anyone know what drivers support the GTX570?

I downloaded 260.99 and 266.44, but when I go to install them it says "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware"

Is 266.58 the only driver that supports the GTX570?

Thanks for your help.

Ok so I installed the driver that came with one of the cards, think it was 263.xx

It installed fine, but I didn't have time this morning to test it out so I'll test after work.

My bro is still testing the air cooled card, he told me he tested 3dmark06 only, I told him to stop being lazy and test some more lol. I'm pretty sure it'll be fine.
