GTX980's not working... Both of them??

I thought I'd upgrade my 3-way GTX670's and got a couple of the new GTX980's, however after doing so, my computer won't post. I have the Asus P9X79E-WS motherboard and it keeps showing me the Q-code 62, meaning "Installation of PCH Runtime Services" and showing a blank screen (no signal detected).

The idea was to benchmark one card, then do it again in SLi to see how the card scale, so I started with only one card in the machine, on a dual-link DVI.

After a while of trying different things, checking things were plugged in properly, booting with no USB devices plugged in, clearing the CMOS etc. etc. I swapped the card with the other one, both cards are brand new; same result!

After putting a single GTX670 back into the machine, it booted like it would when you clear the CMOS, after going into the UEFI and doing some basic setup, like boot priorities etc.. I booted into Windows perfectly, and here I am typing on this forum. Surely both cards can't be duds?

Anyone have any ideas??

Thanks!

I cant fnd the thread but someone else had the exact issue with their 780 few weeks back. Have a search and see what you find!

That thread above was referring to a B2 rather a 62.

I recently had a B2 (which I initially read as 62) error on an X58 mobo when trying to fit a Xeon to replace an i7 920. BIOS update sorted it for me.

Well a quick BIOS update appears to have resolved the issue... I feel a bit of a wally, I don't know why I never thought of it, my BIOS was nearly a year old!

Thanks for the help guys!
