Morning all,

Mods - Feel free to move to Home and Garden however I felt this was more of a 'general' topic.

If your mattress or mattress topper had a 5-15 year guarantee and it lost support/wasn't so comfortable, would you be fine to the cost to get the product back to the place you purchased it from? Or if the offered a £10 collection fee perhaps to make it more convenient?

In return, you recieve a brand new mattress or mattress topper for free.

UPDATE: Of course if you don't cover postage, you don't get a replacement so does that change your mind?

If it’s a manufacturing fault then no, doesn’t consumer law state you’re not responsible for these exact costs?

If it’s not a manufacturing fault but not lived up to expectations and they offer a free unit but I have to pay shipping, seems fair enough!

Do you have any info on this exact consumer law? Thank you!

would they even want it back, sounds like a reason to avoid giving a replacement.
what are they doing with all these mattresses ? wouldn't they have to pay to dispose of them?

maybe it would be so annoying that they would up their standards so people don't need to send things back

If it's a brand new mattress replacement, i'd suck up the £10 - not for a topper though

You realise even a topper can be £200+?

Definitely something I'd be interested in, but with the following conditions:

- Some kind of guarantee that after you sent it back you would definitely get the new replacement (if you had to do something like a video walk round, or detailed photos etc. to prove the condition). Wouldn't be worth the effort if after sending it off they decided they weren't going to replace it after all.
- You get the replacement first (or bring it at the same time as collecting the old one) - it's not exactly ideal to go without a mattress for 4 days while they do the exchange!

For a guaranteed replacement? Yes, I’d pay postage.

For the price of mattresses and the negative effects of poor sleep, a small postage charge is worth it.

I cant imagine having to send a mattress back though…
