Guardiola v Mourinho

Yes but these are top players themselves. Sorry guys i just refuse to accept all the credit managers get. When it's such a grey areat that can't really be measured yet the media and pundits seem to think otherwise. I just do not get it.

Look at the football before and after McLaren at almost every club he has been at. Look at how Newcastle played after he went. Managers don't always make the difference, but they can make an absolutely huge difference.

There are hundreds of jobs that are impossible to assess perfectly performance wise. How do you measure the worth of a footballer? Pure stats? Doesn't work.

You play Leicester one week and Barcelona the next. Do you use the same tactics both games? How do you modify your team?

You face a team that has a top class right back but a makeshift left back. How do you take advantage of that?

How do you keep your star players happy? How do you keep your vital but rarely used subs in peak condition and keep them motivated? You are in the CL, 2 domestic cups, the league and most of your team plays in internationals. Do you rest certain players?

There is a huge amount to a managers job and no its not something that is easily quantified but you can see the positive/negative effect a manager has on their team. Mourinho is a prime example. The players gave up this season when last season they were 100% behind him.
