I was stuffed then. Only two Italian films I've seen are La Vita è bella(Life is Beautiful) and Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma.
I will see if I can find this somewhere as I am strangely fascinated by still no.2.

If you are interested in Sci-fi its fascinating to see the amount of films that borrow from Bava's work. The 1965 film 'Terrore nello spazio', Alien ripped it off in loads of ways. Even Directors like Tarantino acknowledge his work, worth a look if you can get past the paper mache sets.

Clues: Yes this fellow is in prison. This is the work my favorite director, because he strove to distance cinema from theatre, and as such contributed hugely to the understanding of cinematography.
