So I'm merrily poking about for an insurance quote for when I find a new car and as I'm with the AA on my other car (the wife's the policy holder, I'm just the named driver but I sorted it all out & paid for it) I thought I'd give them a shot.

32yo male
group B address
56 plate Honda Accord i-TDCi
social/domestic/pleasure use
18000 annual mileage
parked on street overnight
full licence for 13 years
no accidents or claims
no convictions in last 5 years

What do you think they asked for fully comp?

I will. I'll also call them up & tell them they're having a laugh, see what they can do about it. Best price on comparethemeerkat was £400 odd but with some Mickey Mouse outfit, best price I'd take was £600ish

Sweet Jesus and the baby children. I'm a 30 year old accountant trying to insure a family saloon not some 17 year old kid with an 8 year old Saxo!

You got that right! What's going on?!

you given 3 bits of infomation that show that your a goodish driver *dont know how good insurance companys class accountants as off the top of my head* but your doing quite a few miles per year so your on the road quite a bit, being parked on the street might be a higher risk in your postcode than being on the driveway etc

theres over 40 different rating factors that insurance companies take in to consideration

The 18k miles is based on a 35mile each way commute, 32 miles of which are motorway. I think accountants are classed quite highly as we're generally dull & unadventurous!
