Guess the Tesco 'substitute' item

Stupidest one I had was when they didn’t have ambrosia custard, so sent a packet of custard creams instead. What was I supposed to do, butter my jam roly poly with the biscuits filling!

Part of me thinks Tesco's strange substitutions is marketing at it's best. The other part thinks it's morons in warehouses who can't be bothered to pick a more sensible item. Where do I apply?

Tesco delivered today, one item not available and not charged for, 1 litre Smirnoff vodka, £17.00.
Initially gutted, then remembered that there is a half full litre bottle in the fridge, plus 2 X 1 litre bottles in the freezer.
Quickly adjusted the Asda order to add 1 litre Smirnoff vodka, £20.50, could have had Russian Standard vodka at £18.00, but prefer Smirnoff, and £3.50 won’t put me in the poor house.

You could always try putting milk in your tea instead.

As my old mum used to say, and my wife echoed her, “You’re definitely intelligent Jean-François, but you’ve never had a lick of common sense”, so maybe your suggestion has whizzed over my head, but I’d rather drink brackish water than have tea anywhere near me, just the aroma of the stuff gives me nausea.

I always turn subs off except important stuff like cheese.. gotta have cheese.

I like Sainsburys the best I tried morrisons, Asda and they always have products that says Out Of Stock so you can't even order he item even if you're ordering it for a weeks time when they'll likely have it back in stock.:confused:

Is this a cry for help?

Without looking I'm going to go with

Coke

Its fairly caustic!

Now I'm going to look

Edit
That is amazing.
Id love that substitution

I actually like subs.
Sometimes you get some junk you can reject, most of the time you get more grammage than you bought.

Never seen one like the op!
You even got 2!

I thought Steradent for falsies or a punnet of peaches.
Used online shopping for years and only had a few odd subs in the past, but nothing as extreme as this.

My best one was a few years ago at uni, ordered a squeegee. They didn't have any in, so figured a shower hose was a suitable alternative. Yup.
