Howdy :)

I'm still a Linux newbie, and think it would help me feel more at home if I make the interface similar to my old winxp one..

so, can anyone recommend me a Dock? I used to use Rocket Dock, so one similar.. I'm currently using KDE4, but would have no qualms switching to Gnome/XGFE if needed. Would rather not AWM, as it requires Compiz to be switched on..

Also, is there anything like IconPackager for Linux? Or anyway I can set icons for folders/devices with PNGs I already have?

And finally, I liked how using winxp/winamp, folders would have 'Play in Winamp' in the context menu. Is their any way I can get an option in the context menu for folders in Linux? Currently using Amarok and Rythmbox.

Thanks in advance!

Go into Preferences/Preferred Applications

For themes & stuff install Art manager.

have done..

but that doesn't solve the 3 things I asked for ;)
default KDE doesn't have a Dock like Rocket Dock, I don't know how to change icons and I haven't got a 'play in music player' context menu option.

cheers tho..

To change icons Right click on target.. select properties.... Click on the icon and another window opens up full of icons.

Hang on... will post this then go check.

Your looking at emblems there, not icons. Emblems just put a little logo on top of the current icon.

What can the KDE dock (and panels etc etc), not do over RocketDock ? You can customise KDE to the nth degree, look for themes etc.

Cheers for the link Outcast, got me looking at enlightenment.. will try the LiveCD when I get home :)
