I have had my spare room fitted out to try and capture as much space as possible.

With this in mind I have no option but to purchase some sort of shuttle pc. However I have no idea whatsover what I should be looking at. I currently have a P4 Chip with 1GB of Geil Ram and a 250gb Sata hard drive. If possible I would like to keep these to keep costs down.

I do not play games of any sort and do nothing really that heavy.

Can someone suggest a model that would suit my needs. I do not mind paying as little extra for a quieter one as this will be quite important in this small room.

As I mentioned above, I have no idea what I am looking at so any help would be appreciated.

TIA

imo get a MATX system, they're small enough and the Shuttles are non standard (as in PC parts) A MATX system isn't that big, look into Qpack, Sugo or Silverstone TJ-08 and put it on the floor under your desk. Tiny.

Working in a MATX is tight enough, let alone a shuttle. Shuttles are quite expensive and have steadily increase in price. Look at this case dimensions and see what you think..

Could I suggest you look at the Biostar C1? It should set you back about £100, is pretty well specced out and you should be able to get a 6xx series S775 P4 processor to go in it for about £60. 1 Gb of DDR RAM will be another £40, add a decent HDD for, say £60 and an optical drive £25. That would be a pretty sweet shoebox for £285.

I reckon you could buy the above parts second hand for about £120, which would make it pretty remarkable value. Sell your S478 P4 on Member's market to recoup some of the cost.

Sorry - just re-read your post, the Geil RAM and HDD will fit fine.
