I'm playing GW2 on Highest settings I'm just roaming around and I'm getting FPS drops into 40-50 with my GPU usage at 50 percent why aren't I getting 60 FPS?

Not sure - been reports it gets less dips on 79x0 cards but I've not had a chance to look into it for myself to be sure - all the reports I've seen so far suggest that the 306.02 drivers resolve the performance issues found with the game on earlier drivers.

The game apparently doesn't make the best use of the CPU regardless of what you have but again not had a chance to look into that in detail to see how much of an issue it is here - if its not running on a 3570K @ 4.4 properly tho not many real ways to resolve that.

I knoticed this too, Im using the latest betas 306.02, and putting every thing on max at 19200x1200 was a bit laggy, so I turned down the aa down to native and its much better.

Game is a brute performance wise, and doesnt look that good to justify neededing such a powerfull machine to get just OK performance.

Yea the game definitely doesn't benefit from the 4th core...it seem to only use somewhere between 2-3.

Seriously I'm actually fearing that even overclocked i5 3570K isn't fast enough to provide the scaling that the high-end graphic cards in this game and can't hold constant 60fps+. Seriously...is mmorpg using 4 cores or more too much to ask for...? :o At this stage, fingercross that driver and game updates would still improvement performance further...

It was using all 4 on my i7 3770k.

Try the 306.02 beta's.

They helped a lot with my performance in GW2 in Surround mode.

(it was horrendous before)

But like WoW it is an MMO and you will get FPS drops into the 40's. I do even with SLI 680's (not that SLI actually makes much difference).

I knew he'd be along eventually :D

I'm actually finding the 304.79 are better performance wise than the 306.02, GW2 doesn't even allow your overclock to take effect either wow this game is poorly optimised.
