Just started playing these side by side, I guess I could play them side by side but I was wondering what people's take on the best out of these two was.

I have wow up to lich king and I was going to buy time cards to continue playing, but I'm also playing GW 2.

Would you guys just play both of them or would you devote yourselves to one or the other, and if so which?

Thanks, I'm a bit confused at the moment and can't decide between devoting myself to wow or gw 2 or playing both (seeing as gw 2 is free, it doesn't really matter how much time I put in).

Thanks!

Seems a bit pointless to be playing WoW with a level cap of 80 unless you are in a level cap guild of some sort? I would image there isn't a whole lot you can do being so limited?

I personally would go with GW2, free and tons of content that you haven't done before with more incoming.

Yeah I just got the battlechest which goes up to lich king, was going to buy cata and pandaria later if I wanted to keep playing.

Only paid a tenner and I'm just "trialling" the game, if I enjoy it I'll buy cata and panda.

Both good games, do prefer GW2 as I'm more of a casual gamer these days, less bots, more fun.

If you loved WoW then I don't see why you shouldn't return though, but you might prefer GW2 if you gave it a try, the combat is far more fluid and WvW is vastly better if you like pvp and frankly graphically and in terms of audio it's in a different league.

New game, so it's got the edge on the technical side, only reasons I can see to return to WoW are time already invested and the community if your guild and friends still play, otherwise surely GW2 is worth a shot.

Ahh, gotcha. Up to you, but in theory (if you didn't have any time constraints) you could play both :D

As before though, personally I would play GW2. Looks better, gameplay isn't as static and the levelling process is far far better than WoW, imo. WoW is the more polished tof the 2 though (as it should be due to being an 8 year old game).

End of the day go for whatever one you're enjoying more :)

Guild Wars 2 it is then, no reason to start WoW unless you just want to see what it's like - Personally I'd have a look with a trial assuming you can get one.

no GW2 trials as far as I'm aware at present and no announced plans to do it at the moment - they've no real incentive you offer them at present.

I preffered WoW, purely because its the one i played and got into first.

You wont have time to play both to the level you need to get into them.

I really appreciate guild wars 2 style, gameplay etc, i just couldnt be bothered dedicating enough hours to it, because id already dedicated 2k hours to WoW.

I'd get GW2 just for the leveling experience alone, it's an awesome game... but if you're looking for something to dedicated a bunch of time to then I found GW2 very lacking in that.

WoW though... :(

Perhaps see if you can peg a beta spot in Eldar Scrolls Online tbh :p

Well GW2 is free after initial purchase, WOW is pay monthly.

Personally I found GW2 got very boring very quickly, WOW has more content but you have to pay for it.

If you're looking to devote time then choose WOW if you are happy to be more casual then play both.

In my Opinion I would say play WoW. I felt quite let down with GW2 after so much hype from everyone. It gets boring very quickly and World PvP is pointless unless you like playing at 20fps.

I would also say WoW.

Sadly I never really got into Guild Wars 2 and was disappointed when I got it. It just was bit a "grind" and rather repetitive, in my opinion.

As much as I hate WoW it's still top dog imo. I stopped playing WoW a while back and eventually did as many others did and fall into the GW2 love, it didn't live up to the hype and left me disappointed :( if you're going to play an MMO might as well play the best one. It's always seemed "cool" to hate WoW, I've never quite understood it.

If I had to pick it would be WoW. Purely because I know the formula and have played so much of it. But i'm praying that ESO will thieve the MMO genre of it's stale approach to everything it's been doing for the last ten years or so...

Is there a reason to play GW2 at max level if you're not a PvPer? One of the things that contributed to my flagging interest around mid-75 was the absence of much to do at lv80 other than WvWvW, and if they've fixed that it might be interesting to see what's available again.

This is how I felt. GW2 never really delivered as I had hoped.

WoW is a more serious MMO.
GW2 is probably a better casual affair though.
