Guild Wars 2

GW is probably the only online-rpg/mmo I've really been hooked on in a big way, so GW2 will be an instant buy for me, including the missus and kids, so that's several sales already :p The trailer was great, I really liked how they animated the concept art then transitioned to the in-game graphics, unlike other games where its mostly done with boring old cgi.

But ArenaNet have always had style

I'm thinking I might start playing again on Monday, is there an OcUk guild that might still be running? Going solo on this game isn't usually the best idea (though I did it with EoTN!).

Excellent trailer. I want to play this. It might also tilt the balance for buying a bigger monitor. A much bigger monitor. My 19" CRT does 1600x1200 and has been brilliant value for money over the years, but I could buy a 28" LCD. Hmm...new toy, must buy new toy :)

hope this goes back to basics and is a solid a story/adventure as prophesies.

wait...what am i saying, if it's as good a prophecies i'll lose my life to it (again) :p

in all seriousness though, it really lost the spark, factions was the beginning, but it just got very boring very fast. i guess once i was able to solo shard hunt in FoW and could run droks with my ranger i guess there wasn't much left to do.

looking forward to this though

Is no one a bit aprehensive about the robots and very Asian/RF online look to it?

No, there were Golems in GW, the Asura are an advanced race, who use technology, so it makes sense that they would have 'robots'.

And as far as the asian look? I didn't see anything that looked incredibly asian at all, let's not forget that there was a HUGE Asian-themed city/land in GW:Factions, so it would make sense that they would have some influence on the world in those several hundred years since the original game.

Oh, and it looks gooooooooooood! No subscription fee = win.

Its the reason I played the first the most and amazing that no-one else has tried tapping into this MMO business model. It clearly works.

Frankly I'm glad NCSoft has done so well with it and are not straying from whats made them. GW2 should be fantastic... as long as I don't play too many pre-beta events and power level to highest before anyone else gets there..

Ha ha, of course!

Hows Godless going these days?

Got totally ****ed up not long back. Some **** was invited into the guild (by Sheik I think), made an officer and then proceeded to kick everyone. There's a bunch of us now playing WoW and waiting on GW2 to be released.

Ouch, sucks.

Cape was going strong last time I had a look, 5 members with me being last online 3 weeks ago. Good times! See you in GW2 I guess? Im sure Mortis will be there. Someone said hes discovered the outside world? Scary times.

Cant wait for GW2, playing GW for 3 years, im on break because Arenanet failed to maintain the game, infact after EotN was released they only thing they had to offer was tedious Weekend events which got boring very soon.

Does any 1 here still play GW, i may pop on if anyone gives me the enthusiasm =P

I was thinking about starting again and trying to get back into it for GW2 coming out, was thinking about creating a character in tyria and working through all the campaigns, should be plenty to do.

Yeh, i might do something similar to that too, however one of the main things i miss about GW, is the community and at this stage, tbh, there isnt one. So the only problem with making that new character and going through all campaigns would be, your most likely to be going through all the missions alone. Which totally contrdicks the MMO of the mmorpg lol...

I would be up for this and willing to join you. Would be awesome if we got a few OcUK groups going.

I have never played Guild Wars - but it does appeal to me.

If it is good I might play it instead of wow, is it the same type of thing? Where you need to form parties to raid high level dungeons and raid bosses or something different?
