Well, while the servers down, I've reconsidered my character choices -
Male Human Elementalist
Female Human Mesmer
Norn Guardian
Sylvarri Thief
Charr Necromancer
Asura Engineer
I want my Elly and Mesmer to be humans now with male + female choices, and also wanted to add a Necromancer, so I will need to buy a 6th slot.

Yea the same, got there four times so far and no matter what combination of play or clicks on my character it will error out and i have to alt+f4 back to desktop.
Just have keep trying.

Ah, well, got to make a character and go through my story but didn't get any further.
Can't even play GW1 now....
Hope this helps them iron out any issues ahead of the actual release...by the look of things that day will be insane.
I may actually have to get that day off which isn't something I've ever done for a game.

I was ingame but had a major crash and needed to hard reset my PC, on trying to re-launch the game I get
Ive backed up my installation.

I've been playing since 7pm and I just got kicked... just managed to take silvermist fortress too (or whatever it's called)

Played about 2 hours as a thief, so far its just massive zergs and spamming aoe. Skill point events are cool though, had some varied ones of those.
Dc'ed and cant get back past the character screen. Bleh.

Seems that;
If you try xfer to another server before having points, it'll still log you out and say it will transfer, but will not.
Then, if you do buy the gems (free) and try it, you can no longer as it's greyed out, but can pick any other server. Although it could be greyed out because it's full.

I think maybe my exe is corrupted, is there a repair function for the client do you know ?
It used to be adding [space] -repair to the end of the target in the properties of a shortcut to the EXE for GW1, but that may or may not work for GW2 currently, or ever.
think you need to create a shortcut to the exe and then put -repair on the end
