Guild Wars 2

If you are going to be completing the jumping puzzles as you level, i would suggest you wait until you are max level and then do them. The loot in the chests scale with your character, so you'll get maximum benefit from getting them at max level.

Good morning

Apologies for my morning noobness, coffee is still kicking in but I am unable to create a GW2 account without purchasing the game? I have it on pre-order from Green Man Gaming but not details of code I can find.

is it me or?

You can only register with a code, so if you've got a pre-purchase you can register it now with your cd-key. If you have a pre-order you'll need to wait until 28th or whenever it is delivered to get your code from the box.

rats, ah well looks like I will have to do all those goodies then
on the plus side...... I can say my it was not me and head still holds a brain cell or two :P

thanks for the reply :D

query here guys! i preordered my gw2 from tesco entertainment.

i know some people have ordered the pre-purchase which allows you 3 days headstart. if for whatever reason, tesco delivers my game a day early for example on the 27th August will i be able to play it? or do i have to wait till the 28th?

will guild wars 2 realize the the difference of code between a pre-purchase and a pre-order?

I'll be Sylvari as well, didn't think I'd like them but after last stress test I loved them.

I was set on Asura, but playing both i realised i prefered the story and the area of the Sylvari much more than i thought i would have,

Yeh the code is different, so if you receive the game on the 25th you will not get in. However you will be pleased to know that all pre-order codes include 1 day early access so you will get in on the 27th.

thanks for the heads up on that :)

Not really read much on the game, but am i correct in that theres no healing class? Ive always played a healing class as far back as DAoC lol.

I guess technically you could call a support spec'd elementalist a 'healer' however no profession heals full time, expect to be doing a variety of different things instead.

By the way I see you played DAoC, GW2 is basically DAoC2 so you will enjoy it!

No Healers, Tanks, Support really. You can do a Dungeon with x5 pure dps Elementalists if you wish.

There is no dedicated healer, tank or DPS. instead all classes can heal themselves to some extent, all classes can DPS, and although not everyone can tank, everyone can dodge and has abilities to reduce dmg done to them.

Depending on weapon, utlity skills and traits though you can focus on different things. So you could build your class more on pure DPS, or a condition build where you focus on keeping your enemy fully debuffed and stack dots, or you could have a support build that is viable for several classes that can heal others and remove negative conditions from your allies.

So if you still want to play a healer/support type setup you can, but you can just change your weapons and traits and you could now be in a DPS setup :) (unlike some games where a healer class trying to play DPS just isn't viable, in gw2 pretty much all classes have multiple options).

Thank you very much for the info, was really helpful :)

what build would you recommend for a healer/support mainly then?

Again ty for help :)

Wab, are you still rolling a norn? I will be a norn warrior so it would be nice to have some backup:)
My brother will be playing a norn hunter, and im sure he will get to max level way before me:(

Guardian and Elementalists have some nice healing and support skills, necro also can be played as bit of a support by focussing on applying conditions to enemies and removing them from allies and has some healing (although I have barely played necro so can't comment much).

Guardian seems to be a very popular choice right now, as it has heavy armour, can go around with badass two handed hammers, can heal, can remove conditions from friendlies, has some defensive stuff and can dish out some good damage if needed.
