yeah if you are home that weekend just do it! What better time to ignore your family and drink 3litre bottles of cider for 3 days whilst you learn a game.

edit: probably best i don't go on mumble due to the cider i can get a bit rapey

Tho we started as guilds from OcUK, any mature guild is welcome, all guilds in the alliance will have equal say. (guilds need to be 20+ to get a vote)

We are busy creating this site for the alliance so we can have a forum if required, its a total neural site not linked/tied to any one guild, all guild leaders + deputy will get admin rights.

Even if we never find that we need to use a alliance, its well worth getting in the ground work as WvWvW is going to be very competitive and I know I would rather win.

It would be great to have set times that we go in WvWvW, and have guild co ordinated attacks, just think not only will we need to be attacking we will a) need a patrol to guard our supplies en-route, need a patrol to guard supply camps, and then a few patrols to be hitting the guys trying to return to the battle.

Whilst as a guild we may very well be big enough to go this alone (just ask the sith in swtor :D) ..I for one would much prefer it done under a umbrella alliance!

Ask yourself another question do you as a guild just wanna be part of a zerg battle or be the guilds directing the battle :D.

We will have to have some basic rules, I'm sure the guys from here are fine but we never know who else might join the alliance.

All guilds with 20+ players get 2 votes, no more than 2 votes per guild even they have 500 members, so alliance is run evenly and fairly.
Absolutely no trying to ninja other guilds members, tho why anyone would want a member they can ninja is beyond me, but if guilds try this it will cause a uproar.
Majority vote counts, always, and if you on the losing part of the vote you will still take part in the event and not go off and sulk.

This is just basic and off the top of my head as I type :D, what you guys think, and if you keen please sign up to the Alliance web site, anyone can sign up but only guild leaders, their deputy will have admin rights, and maybe a site admin.
 
Watched the preview video of the collectors items, oogled how awesome the high res graphics look, now even more convinced to upgrade! Just as well there are no monthly fees; Gw2 is gonna cost me a fortune!
 
Anyone got any good links to some good videos of GW2, higher level content? Youtube is a minefield and full of let's play low level stuff...

Really interested in this especially now I see it has no sub.

There won't be much as high level content hasn't been revealed. The end game is mostly PvP currently.
 
Quick performance question - anyone been playing any of the tests on a low end machine, ie dual core C2D/i3 or a laptop with low/mid range graphics? Just how cpu intensive is WvWvW, or large scale PvP in general?
 
Hmmm, so a quad i5 is pretty much a requirement for reasonably smooth large scale PvP then?

I hope not, I'm planning to downsize to low power itx build or a laptop, but it will be a shame if that pretty much excludes me from PvP. :(
 
It runs like pap even on high end machines. I think you will be able to get a decent compromise on a dual core but it won't be great.

The engine is weird. I get 50% GPU usage and 50 FPS. But then if I look at a wall my GPU usage sky rockets to the 90's and I get 200 FPS.

Would rather than were 90% in use when it was required!

I took some screenshots but the usage/FPS counter wasn't taken with it :(

Have a guild mate thats use a C2D and he runs okish as far as I know, tho think he struggles on WvWvWM he is also on this site so he may post his own reply.
