As much as that sucks....I never will understand why people use these somewhat dodgy websites to save yourself a few quid.

I will ALWAYS pay extra just for peace of mind and to know it isnt possibly dodgy.

Because 3 of the points from the Hall of Monuments rewards, are obtained from LINKING your accounts together. The HOM Calculator assumes you are going to do this and automatically adds 3 points for you.

So during registration the site asks you if you are linking accounts. And if you are, it then asks you to enter the relevant account details.
 
Erm no, three of the points are obtained from linking your GW1 account to NCsoft, not from linking GW1 with GW2. linking them simply allows your HoM rewards to carry over to GW2.

Actually I thought the linking points came from linking the expansions together.

Proph + Fac + NF etc.

I have all GW installments (Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall & EOTN)....but I don't think I have done any of the Hall of Monuments stuff.....anyone got a link to what you need to do in GW1 for this?
Is it worth doing it?:confused:

Well, for my first GW account, I bought from a reputable software house the collectors edition and that Key had been already used too...so it happens all over, not just cheap and cheerful key outlets like CJ's but also the big players in that area (Play was where I bought it from).

Yup me as well got them all but not played the game for years would not mind finding a few peeps to join up and do some of the stuff for Hall of Monuments

Its not a dodgy website by the looks of it and several people have used it from here. Seems I'm just unlucky, waiting to hear from them and if they leave it too long I'll do a paypal reversal.

Seems a complete joke and will be the last time I use them. I did pay by Paypal lucky.
 
So any rich pve person with lots of gold spare want to help me each my goal of 30 HoM points. Have 24 currently and only really require gold of around 200-300k to get the last 6. :)

Hoping I can get this finished before the first beta starts.

I've not owned gw1 for long so dont have many points, basically you put up tapestry's in eotn then add stuff to it.

Can anyone give me a run down on why I should bother reinstalling GW1 and doing any of this? is it pretty much just cosmetic stuff or anything of note?
 
Yeah past 30 its just for titles, every 5 points is a new title. I'm at 45/50, couldn't be bothered to grind titles for the last 5 points.

Even if you only get a few points however you'll still get some free stuff unlocked in GW2.

As for what you get, its things like special weapon skins and armour, mini pets, titles, special pets for your ranger etc.

i only have 5 :( lol I want 9 for the cat but cant be bothered really.
Not sure on GW2, I was well up for it as i loved 1 but I think hype is a funny thing. I loved 1 because of the community and how those I knew were still playing it years on.
everyone and their dog seems to want to play gw2 just because its new or their bored. - that to me will not make a great community
and half these people would have been the ones that said in the past that GW was for idiots or wasnt a real MMO yadda yadda.

I'm one of those people who said GW1 wasnt a real MMO (then again, so did the GW1 devs :) ), my reason for playing GW2 though is that its the first MMO to come along since Daoc which might possibly capture the sheer brilliance of 3 way PvP.

Well no, its probably not gonna help now as there isnt enough time left to get 30 points, you need at least a month.
