Guild Wars 2

How is that an excuse for not having keybind modifiers?

It wasnt an excuese, but GW1 didnt use alt / ctrl skill binds and it worked perfectly with 8 skills on buttons 1-8 because you could freely mover them around. Arenanet made the mistake of applying the same method to GW2 with what appears to be fixed skill slots in awkward positions (heal skill in slot 6, bloody terrible because it cant be reached while using wasd).

I only find GW2 difficult due to still being unable how to simply move my skills to the slot I want.

I actually have 5 extra buttons available on my mouse:

My scroll wheel has 3 seperate clicks, plus 2 thumb buttons, but I cant figure out how to set the macros in the crappy software :x

disagree, Tor, Rift, Tera have all been better than this. I'm sure it will be sorted come launch, but Arena Net have some work to do.

What problems are you finding worse in the GW2 beta than the others?

Other than performance, which they have purposely bound to the CPU at the moment to stress test CPU usage, and in game bugs which is the point of testing a beta, what other problems do you have that are worse than other betas.

I didn't play the Rift or Tera beta but SWTOR was horrible for the first day. The same log in issues as GW2 then half the NPCs weren't showing, stuff you were doing wasn't registering etc.

The login issues are easily fixed by properly clearing up your failed log outs through your account management. This is working for 90% of cases where people cant log in due to old connections not being properly cleared.

Trying to play with a friend is near impossible, only getting overflow servers, never the same one twice :(

Wish it would put you on your friends server or let you pick an overflow server or something :(

I'm guessing that would be more like an instance. Glad they have this in and there isn't 5 hr queues.

I've played enough now to know that I'm going to really enjoy Guild Wars 2. Seriously considering not playing it again until it is released to keep it as new and fresh as possible.

the the what?

Even at this stage you would think it was at least playable......

It is playable, I'm playing it and it works. Sorry that you cant follow the clear advice already given multiple times on how to get the game working, thats not the fault of a beta.

The login issues are fixed now anyway because you don't suddenly have hundreds of thousands (millions?) of people trying to log in to mostly untested servers.

Dare I say it but... is anyone else a little offput by the Teleport system? I'd prefer in-game transport, even :( Teleporting around everywhere really collapses the feel of the in-game world and its vast size. I guess this is related to the fact that it's not truly an MMO, anyway...

Lovely, figured out how to use my mouse properly, really nice for something that was only £40:

Just had to use macro editing on the top left.

I made 2 custom profiles (can store up to 5 and switch on the fly), one has a single and infinitely looped double click on the thumb buttons (for consumables in GW1), and the other one pictured has keys 6-0 bound to macros 6-10.

And it works, middle mouse click = heal skill :)

Not even a fanboy, just tired of your continuous... 'it's a disaster!!111!'

Where am I saying anything is a disaster? I'm just saying they have overlooked some pretty basic things considering all of the high-falutin' hype talk they were giving for this. Breaking out of the MMO mould, yes, certainly... by not giving us normal MMO keybindings? Methinks they're trying to be a little bit too radical...

I would report bugs if I could find some. So far I've had one woman speak with a mans voice and that's it.. everything else feels and plays like a final game!

So peeps, got my email and whatnot from my prepurchase a while ago, got my email about the beta weekend, clicked to my Account tab and the download client link is unavailable, anyone else get the same issue?
