I havn't played a necro so my view may be completely off but 30 in toughness isn't the best use of those points for what looks like your beast master build.
If you take toughness down to 20 you only really lose out on the death nova because the 25 point bonus is an increase of 10% to power from your toughness, which is never going to be better than pure power points. Also that trait line improves boon duration which is wasted as you only really have 1 from what I see.
So drop ten from toughness and put it into power (taking training of the master at 20), giving you better damage output, better healing and better minion damage.
You'll lose some burst damage from nova and a bit of tankyness from the drop on toughness but you've maxed vitality so you probably don't need it.
Thanks, I hadn't actually seen training of the master in the power tree. I'm gonna try it out when the game actually comes out but the main reason I had the points in toughness was that last time I played a necro I was quite squishy. I think with the amount of health I should be getting back from minions, plus life siphon on the main hand dagger I should be ok though. Any idea on the first trait slot in power? I'm between removing a condition on killing an enemy or gaining retaliation when entering death shroud. I try to use death shroud quite often and if I'm going for a tank-ish build then I think retaliation could be useful, but would the condition removal be more useful? Anyway, I'm hoping I can still deal a substantial amount of damage with this, I'll just have to have a look at the minion damage output.
I missed the last beta weekend so I haven't had much chance to try some different necro builds yet, and any other advice would be nice.
