Guild Wars 2

Wohay Mr Thumpsta, long time no see (since Rift!).

Yeah i switched quite a lot, then i decided to give Engineer another go and it'll be my main now.

I just can't make my mind up between Human, Asura and Sylvari.

Hmmm, £50 too =/

Are people liking it then?

One can find it cheaper than that with a little googlefu and luck for special offers etc.

I like it a lot. Played an Asura Engineer and was having a blast in WvWvW when I was in a team. I did not have uber damage but could cc quite happily whilst people hit the doodah out of them...made me giggle.

I can see myself living in the WvWvW aspect part of the game over PvE which is a major change for me.

You can get a copy that "should" be delivered by release from Sainsburys £29.99 or from Tesco's with a code which brings it down to the same price. If you would rather get the 3 days headstart you can get the Digital Pre-Purchase copy from GreenManGaming for £37ish with a code.

I'm loving it, the PvP in the game is copied from DAoC and made bigger and better, something which lots of people have been waiting for for a long time. Is it worth £50? well you can get it from places cheaper and considering the no monthly fees (and the gem store (microtransactions) allows buying/selling gems for gold, it means you can get the same stuff people who pay money do, except with ingame gold instead, meaning you never have to pay a penny) I would say it's well worth it.

It does depend heavily on the types of games you like though, some people don't get on with it due to not having as rich and story filled type game as other MMOs (GW2 focuses a LOT on engame large scale PvP and smaller organized type PvP rather than as much on PvE Raids). That's not to say that there isn't guild PvE content, there is dungeons but that's for small groups, and the PvE raiding is done by tens/hundreds of people in the zone fighting a huge world boss rather than just single guilds on their own in an instance.

Right guys and little girls :p the alliance is up and working, OCuK alliance

if you have a guild on there just drop a post here and I will find and invite you to it.

I have for now set up a page on our website, that anyone can post to without the need to sign up, this is just temporary as the alliance needed a website to point to, if this takes off will create a separate forum called the Ocuk alliance.

Hey wab. I'm working on our Sylvari only guild 2ndborn, and we want to be part of the alliance on Desolation but when I search on gw2guilds under "My Alliances" OCUK isn't found.

Check us our and apply at http://2ndborn.enjin.com

£30 sounds a lot better, might give it a go, but tbh it mainly depends on whether anyone else I know is going to play.

Play with ocukers :p

I loved the game. I was pretty sceptical going into beta after the hype and let down of most recent MMO's but this game blew me away. There are certainly issues such as pvp scale, zerg/tactics debate and a few other niggles but it's well polished and a fantastic game that looks although it will move the genre in the right direction.

Trying to watch at work. This is just an audio feed? Getting nothing though other than a bunch of *&%^ on chat.

There is video too, but it's just a video of the 2 people talking. And ignore the chat, the chat on all these streaming places is always rubbish.
