Guild Wars 2

Well after playing this Stress Test I now cant decide between Guardian or Warrior also cant decide between human or Norn, I think Norn looks 'the part' and when you stood next a human you look so much better but I cant help but think being so big will put you at a disadvantage for things like being focused in pvp and the jumping puzzle seem to be better for human sized or less.

Argh!!!

Thank god. Not just me then.

I was messing around with engineer, but apparently Mesmer played a lot better today?

Gah, can't decide between Charr Iron Legion storyline and Asura statics. They're fun in their own ways. >.>

A lot of hanging in loading screens tonight. First I've experienced during all betas.

Yeah, same. Lots of Alt+F4 going on tonight.

Performance was weird tonight. I turned relfections off totally and i gained 10-15fps. I really couldn't notice what it was doing...

I tried a bit of WvW but was getting ripped apart by wolves. Although you're 80, is it normal to be rubbish because you dont have level 80 gear?

Well you don't have the gear, the runes/sigils for the gear, the utilities, the elite skill or the large amount of traits as well as the stats you get from having spent those traits.

The 'not being about gear' thing is only applicable if you're actually 80 or in sPvP. In WvW on a lowbie you're wormfood.

Same for me as well.

I'd say so. If you don't have the elites, the skills, and the buffed weapons, it will be tough. I wouldn't play GW with standard gear (meaning, weapons and armours with no buffs).

But like GW, looks like it's mostly about your skill combination, how and when to use them, and balance within the team. Although less so than GW1 since there are no dedicated healers, there will be classes better at some tasks (debuffing, buffing, shutdowns, healing, AOE, spike, aggro control).

Another great night of WvWvW with my thief.

Gandara rocking it as usual:) Was pretty cool as we had an Arenanet dev fighting alongside us. Had a fancy little Arenanet logo beside his name.

Thanks. So the main purpose of low level characters getting involved in WvWvW is to assist with supply deliveries?

There was a lot of crashing on loading screens, but they did seem to be hammering the servers.. I guess they are using the stress tests for what they are meant. :p

Having hard time deciding class on this :p Typically have that in all MMO's though and end up playing several classes at end-game playing the game for 1-3 months before I settle on a class

That said, Ele with scepter+dagger offhand seems rather strong and not seen many (anyone?) else using that combo ;o

Yea i had the hanging on loading screens a few times too so glad tjat was across the board

Really impressed with how they are handling yhe game up to release though, hats off to the team!

But why do all the classes appeal to me lol! Unsure if engineer will stay awesome! Ranger was good but died a fair bit but think that was because i was in a higher level area!

Definatly going Charr though! So omce u unlock the attacks of a weapon (5 on the bow i was using) is that all the attacks you get? Bit confused by that as they were unlock within minutes and wondering how that remains fresh for the whole game thankd

I've decided to go Asura Ele but level him in the Human starter zones as I've heard this will give a better feel for the lore and background of the Guild Wars story. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

You can take out the mobs and other players too but it's just a lot more difficult. Really need to play smart to take out mobs and generally for fighting others stick with a group.

You should realise though that when facing others at release most will be in the same boat level wise, further into the game on alts etc wvw I can imagine being a *****.

hmm strange to see performance issues from so many people - I logged in for 10 minutes just to test to see if they had optimised the supersampling and it ran at 60fps with this setting now very smoothly out in the forests compared to the same area where I'd logged out with supersampling in the last 4 hour test getting only 40fps.

Ive been looking at GW2, never played before as iv said before. Looking at videos and the webby articles. But is there anywhere to see all the skills, like every other game gives you before release? I use this to pick what char im going to pick.

:p
