Guild Wars 2

By the way, for those wanting to reserve names, it looks like you will be able to use the same name as someone else, only if you do so it will be followed by your "arenatag" (the four digit code in your account).

Uhhh does anyone know if I can pre-load on one machine, and copy the files across?

Reason being I'm away from home with my pc turned off, and I can imagine downloading when I get back on Monday will take blood ages..

Yes, it's pretty much a 20MB exe with a 16GB DAT file.
That's it.

Was so dead certain on a norn warrior (don't usually play melee but really liked this for some reason!) then I go try out an Asura warrior just for the hell of it, prefer the animations.. damn it! Now I don't know!

Well it's over.

Had an enjoyable time, definitely going to enjoy this when it comes out in a few days.

Don't think I'll be playing a Warrior though, too much just spam spam spam.

Have they changed that then? Will the numbers only pop up if someone with the same name is on your server? And is there any source for this? I was only aware that character names are unique which is why it is important to get in early and only usernames were subject to the #xxxx at the end.

Was always going to be thief but was torn between Human and Norn. Decided on Human now....I think :D

At least the home city has some resemblance of normality and not being lost 24/7 :D

Guess that's all she wrote?
Only got 15mins in this evening. FPS definitely seemed to be up (after I've ordered a new system, natch! - though I doubt WvWvW performance will have improved enough for me to regret upgrading).
Still not settled on a class, but I guess that's no bad thing. Usually in MMOs Im strictly melee as ranged/magic classes have little appeal; whole different story in GW2 as just about every class is a blast to play and never really feels like you're limited to one pigeon-holed role. I can see me picking a class almost at random on Saturday and seeing it through to max level.
