To repair ir not?

I cant decide!

This e-mail hacking business is so weird, that guy signing in all the way from China O.o

Damn gold bot factories ¬_¬

Is it illegal to issue a chargeback on gems I bought or does it just give arena net the right to ban my account? I'm not supporting this ****ing ******** or investing my time to get banned for their massive **** up.
What an absolute shambles arenanet are turning out to be.

If you do do a chargeback there is a good chance Anet will ban the account, however you can appeal that and goto binding arbitration (I believe).

I assume this is in reference to the Norn 'Tier 2', 21 Karma per weapon items, that some people brought lots of.

It's always difficult to tread the route through the minefield of customer relations, and I don't envy Anet that task.

But they have said if you disagree with the ban, you can publically post on Reddit, your char name and they can find out the actual number of times that that char brought an 'exploited' weapon.

I didn't get banned, but I refuse to play a massive time sink game being managed by nothing more than retarded counter strike admins who are butthurt, obviously can't get the money for my game back but is charging back on gems illegal? Could also argue had spent money on early access and did not get what was advertised?

Ensuring the best possible play experience for our fans is our highest priority. We’ve said before that we would be willing to temporarily disable first-party digital sales if we felt our high player concurrency may compromise player experiences. We have now reached that point.

Effective immediately we have disabled sales via buy.guildwars2.com. To be clear, box and digital sales are still available via our retail partners. We are tracking our concurrency closely while expanding our infrastructure. We’ll re-enable first-party digital sales as soon as we feel that we can do so safely. ~RB2

If you were planning on buying, go grab a boxed copy asap!

Lol no way have they stopped sales, IMO this can only work in their favour once the sales block is lifted, as the block will generate more hype and more sales. Good marketing ploy :).

Lol at the bannings, really nasty move on arenanet's part. I'm not banned myself but I've really lost respect for them.

Purdy, chargeback the gems, and chargeback the game itself if you bought it directly from them :D

I would if I could, but I bought CE due to my love of GW2 and I really enjoy this game but I'm not willing to put a massive amount of time into it to be taken away by some amateurs

The banning is justified. People were buying 100s, 1000s of the item.

Taking a hardline approach on suspensions/banning makes people think twice in future.

Were they ****. Also letting Kripp know he was banned via posting on reddit, pretty sure that goes down well in the privacy agreement. Amateur company

Someone bought 2,167.

Most counts bought 100s.

If they are amateurs I hope they stay that way. Transparent and clearly outlining why people were banned when they post on public forums claiming their innocence or pushing lies. Never seen a company so swiftly deal with exploiter scum which, as far as I am concerned, is pretty damn impressive.

The only person who is butthurt is you for not getting away with exploiting. Seriously, what did you think would happen? Are you new to MMOs? You exploit - Your account goes bye-bye - Forever.

agreed

Also, if you have never played on an MMO where the economy has been destroyed you might find it hard to appreciate just how big of an issue injecting items into said economy is.

It is permanently damaging.

Aaaaaand there's your assumption that I've actually been banned, I didn't even know this existed until being linked to Kripps video and his initial 72 hour ban which I can understand.

Robbing people of £50 because you put something in the game as simple as buy one currency and sell for another is bloody hilarious. Also doesn't really matter how many they bought, it's in the game via arenanet either not thinking properly or making mistakes.

And no I'm not new to MMOs, are you? Because you r account does not go bye bye forever for exploiting one major design flaw

They should hotfix and remove the ill earned gains.

Instead of banning for something that is essentially entirely their fault. No external programs or actual cheats were used.

Yeah, it does.

I've also seen people permanently banned for less.

Really because I can recall many a time Nihilium openly exploited for world firsts and got nothing done to them bbecause they reported it, then Exodus exploiting hugely for LK25 HC world first got a temp ban. Permanent closure of account for a mistake developer made or didn't think through? Jog on

Bots are getting 72 hour bans, says it all

People trying to justify exploiting.
Idiots.

People need to stop using an excuse that others don't get caught, that isn't a reason at all.
Doing any of this is risky, if anyone gets caught, deal with it.
