Guild Wars 2

Yeah my character is pimp as **** :D

Im finding the mesmer class very underwhelming. I have equipped a staff for ranged and a sword and varying off hands for melee. On ranged I only use 1 attack which is very dull, and its on auto attack which means I effectively don't have to do anything at all! This seems like a bit of a shortcoming with the class and is making progress seem very boring. I have 1 other clone skill but as it has a long cast time and as my clone dies after the enemy dies or I switch targets (and it has a 18 sec cd) it seems almost pointless. It seems like that none of the utility skills do anything i can weave into my attacks either, most have 45-180 cool down times, and offer little to no dps increase. As I know I wont get any more skills all the way to 80 (32 now) I feel somewhat cheated. I was hoping for some combos or chains that utilise more than 1 skill spam, or some random procs you have to react to, it seems its not going to get any better.

Heya, make sure and try out all the weapon combos if you can before ditching the class. I had gone with scepter+focus initially and was finding all the fighting pretty tedious as it felt like there wasn't much of anything to do other than autoattack like you say. I then grabbed some cheap weapons to try out other weapon combos and for me at least I 'struck gold' with the scepter+sword and then the 2h greatsword. If you go for utility skills which will spawn phantasms/clones as part of their effect then that helps even more with giving you extra things to do as you can start to properly build the F1-F4 'shatter' skills into your play.

I bought mine from here, they sent it pretty quickly.

They send you the serial which you register online and then download the game.

edit: not in stock :(

For that small difference i would still rather use ocuk, for the amount of time I spend on here, and abuse I get seems a fair swap :D.

For my money ocuk provide a much bigger service than just the PC parts they sell us.

Howdy all,

It seems like the game is keeping everyone entertained. Both in-game and out :)

I'm 2 days into a 3 week trip offshore and suffering withdrawal symptoms, nae good. Making do with Forums and GW2 research.

Enjoy all ya jammy gits!

I am finding absolutely ZERO compulsion to level in this game... it's quite sad and alarming :(. In any other launch MMO I am playing rabidly for 50+ hours a week, even trying to enjoy obviously bad games for their new MMO hype and excitement... but in GW2, the entire levelling process just bores me stiff. All the new dynamic events and heart quests and whatnot leaves me so... cold and disconnected from the zone.

Anyone else find this? Am I the only masochist who actually - dare I say it - kinda prefers the old questing/levelling system? Clearing out 15 quests from your questlog and ticking off an entire questhub/town had a kind of compulsive, perfectionist glee to it... this new system seems to be 80 levels of enforced aimless wandering.

I'm actually finding that I'm leveling without realising it, when asked the other day what level I was I had to log in to check and I'm not missing the "ding" or "another level" messages in chat either, most people frankly don't notice when they do level.

I just like exploring and running about collecting resources, the dynamic events etc are simply an added bonus if they happen near me. I'm a casual gamer these days though and this game suits me to a tee.

10 years ago I'd be questing my backside off though (back in the DAOC days!) :D

I'm struggling to find somewhere to level at the moment. I'm level 10, and don't have any hearts I can go towards to level up with, as the ones I haven't done are all too high level. Grinding certainly doesn't work.

Press B - Enter Mists - turn right - enter the big purple thing to Lions Arch - run forward and through the arch (heading north) down the ramp and across the bridge half way across on the left are the purple things to all the other areas.

If you are getting stuck give us a shout I'm leveling an alt up.

You could go to another races lvl 10 area, or can try crafting for xp.

I think the fact that you get put to the level of the zone makes a difference. I was doing some heart quests earlier and noticed I was 5 levels over the recommended so got 'crippled'.

I think going by your post history in the thread you were never likely to like this game, set your stall out from the off and I am not shocked you've reached this point.

For what it's worth I've been in CBT4 of Archeage and despite its Eastern origins and occasional oddities I think you'll find it more to your taste.

I'm lv 14 and haven't crafted ****. I don't get the point, I've stored all the items I've been getting now and only one appears in the Discovery menu when I go to craft armour or weapons...

If I'm still playing this in 6 weeks then I will declare myself a fan. When I reached that stage in SWTOR I simply stopped playing one day and never went back. At the moment it's too early to go all fan boy. :D

My current concern is that I have only 30s and my Guardian is level 27. 32s was the most I've had. :o I suspect 'porting and salvaging everything could be the main reason.

My only other beef is that I feel I should've made a Sylvari Guardian instead of a human one. Those rather earnest tree people seem much better suited to that class than any of the others.
