Guild Wars 2

Can anyone give any insight into which server I should play on?

Picked up the game today.

Most people here are on Desolation, very busy and nice enough server but when it comes to WvW is proving itself to be a little lackluster. So if you're wanting WvW in particular perhaps Farshiver Peaks might be a better choice (or Vizunah Square if you want to learn2french :D)

I just completed Sorrows Embrace level 60 dungeon on story mode with a full group of first timers, but competent people.

The second to last boss Kudu was the only hard part, but we figured out how to beat him after just one (and the only) wipe.

The end boss the Iron Forgeman ... The one boss I was looking forward to the most from the preview videos, so laughably simple that I feel betrayed. Hide behind a wall, take no damage, kill him fast with boulders WTH! And no its not an exploit, there are 3 wall you can hide behind to avoid his fire beam, and then he stands up and drops lava at those three points ... which does next to no damage and was outhealed by my passive soothing mist :X

Easiest dungeon boss so far, and by easy I mean really far too easy and simple :(

Gandara is the other main EU / UK server as the Desolation, and the main server for the GW2Guru EU community. I joined that one but its also at high capacity now.

Most of them are very easy and simple, wait until you get a load of the Zhaitan fight, there will be a wtf moment as you realise the lvl30 dungeon has harder trash than the supposed 'final' boss of the game.

What do you mean about the WvW? Is it just too busy or something on Desolation?

Desolation gets owned, extremely badly by both Vizunah Square and Farshiver Peaks. It might be a case of the server being so busy that theres too many randoms just playing WvW for fun without large organized guilds being able to flood it - but still getting owned is getting owned, it isn't pretty :p

Gandara is terrible at WvW though, we make them look as stupid as Vizunah Square makes us look :D

So if you're into WvW I'd try and pick carefully, if not I wouldn't worry about it.

I looked online and couldn't find any digital editions which is very odd, had it been available I would have coughed up the £35 I'm sure but instead I've gone back and started playing GW1 again :)

The only digital ones I've seen cost a fortune. Going to have a scan round a couple of supermarkets on the way home.

I can vouch for that as I'm in Gandara, we've won 1 I think lol. All we seem to do is have a massive group who just carries on zerging right up to the enemy border, absolute idiots lol.

Plan on finally getting this game on the 14th.

Any n00bie tips?
I played about 30mins of my brothers beta access, and played around 800hours of GW1 so I'm pretty familiar with the lore and general gameplay of the game.

Just hit level 300 jewelcrafting, and I'm still only level 62 and cant use my platinum tier masterworks lol.

Just need to do Mithril to reach 400 points, then I'll wait till level 80 for tailoring.

I want to get a power / precision / healing exotic set for my first endgame armor but still dont know where to get that or if its craftable.

Best bet is to follow your 'personal story' quest a bit - it'll naturally lead you onto the next zone.

Failing that, try a different exit from your capital city and see if everything's about the right level.

''Nice''

That means as long as I'm good with the market and clever with the money (don't drop it all into buying any crafting mats) I'll succeed at endgame gearing. Levelling the crafting should be important but not at any expense like in wow where you need it to get good items bound to your character.

You can't craft anything good in WoW.

GW1 and 2 are radically different games, the only similarities they share are the art style and lore.

Wheres the best place to get tiny scale, tiny claws and tiny totum? been killing river drake and not got a single piece.

nothing useful now but when new expansions come out the guys with engineering running around with uber tanking helms is annoying as hell. That's what I wanted to avoid in gw2 and have avoided it I think. so wvwvw gear is craftable too?

How are people's characters at such high levels? :p I have been playing quite a lot (for me), and just at level twenty. People that have got to level eighty... Have you been doing nothing else since the game came out?

Exploiting mini events, thats how most of the 80's are there.
