Guild Wars 2

Aggro is based on lots of things from what I can tell -

Damage, certain abilities, proximity, and the one that seems to make a huge difference is ressing - stopping to res someone in large scale events seems to virtually ensure you're targetted - obviously that's good AI from the mob's point of view but it can be quite nasty if you don't keep your finger on dodge while working a res.

And yes, there's no full 'tank' class in game - heavy armour guys with a toughness and vitality build can maybe take 3-4 hits instead of 1-2 in my (albeit limited) experience.

Thanks for that, looks like I might need to get some toughness in my glass cannon build :p

It's not ideal all of the time but playing this with my 360 controller has made it a lot more fun for me, particularly when exploring and fighting easier enemies. I already spend too much time using a mouse at work so it's much more comfortable to sit back with a joypad.

Slowly getting into the game as well, it really could use a better introduction as there's an awful lot to take in and not much hand-holding at all so there's been a lot of trial and error.

Iv decided to scrap my lvl 60 Warrior for now, and changed to a ranged class. Iv chosen a Mesmer, seem a bit weird and different! Not sure what to think yet, just hit lvl 7.

Is there any way to block spam mail ?
i logged into a server today only to recieve mail from some guy trying to sell me gold.

Christ, one 30 minute review video of this was more enjoyable than my whole month in WoW (90£ for one month yay). Definitely gonna pick this up at some point, anyone playing WoW and not this is still on their subscription. ;)

My latest, and most likely last incarnation:

Spent an hour tonight farming for tier two rare ingredients tonight, was just killing fish in a lake with some other guy, managed to get 22 scales...it's 8 for each higher insignia. They NEED to increase the drop rate, it's massively unbalanced at the moment. You can tell by how much they're going for on the marketplace. My jewellery is on 325 yet my Leather working is stuck on 124, and I started it first!!

I found the drops rates to be too poor to be worth farming for your own use. I managed to get crafting mats faster by just farming gold and then buying whatever I need.

The only bad thing i saw about farming crafting materials is the levels i gained while doing it. Death should also mean xp loss, would make the game far more interesting, but ive thought that about mmo's since originally coming from nwn pw's. You can never really get to know a build without the threat of loosing several thousand xp and carried loot when you die.

I find the best way to play is if i adventure for a few levels then use what i find to craft, when i run out i go adventuring again... then craft and so on. It does help that i have a close friend who only jewel crafts and gives me all their other mats. I intern pass on all my jewels and silver. Although saying that i did by a few hundred of the second tier leather scrap stuff, since it was only 4copper a piece.

Wish they had adopted EQ2 crafting, that was easly the best crafting ever in any mmo. For those who never played EQ2 (and possibly EQ1 - but i never played that so i dont know) You earned crafting skills which you used to combat impurities and keep the crafting process going for longer which then gave better results. None of this click... wait... result!

Just fyi those who don't know, recent mini patch increased the experience rewarded for completing a dungeon by a hell of a lot, for example the previous reward for completing Caedecus' Manor was ~22k exp, it is now an amount scaling with your level to be exactly 78% of an entire level each run, this is practically 85% of a level per run (factoring in the kills etc too) in 15-20minutes with your average group, on top of 20-40silver a run (that has not changed, but still). Makes running dungeons a very effecient way to level now, especially CM Story (40+) and CoF exploreable (75+)

woohoo my internet has returned. It's faster too they must have been doing an upgrade but didnt tell their callcentre grrrrr. 148mb/s down and what seems to be 15mb/s up.

Hit level 60 and saw my first dragon last night! :D Although I got there a bit late and didnt get anything...

Gotta go kill people in WvW now to finish off my Monthly Achievement!

Given up on my Warrior because it's just so samey with other MMO's not sure what I was expecting really, my own fault! playing a Necromancer now I played one for a while in BETA, much more fun :D Think I'm gna give Mesmer a bash before I settle on a class.

Was playing some spvp last night. Really enjoying it but zomg Warriors are freaking scary. If they get the jump on you its like instant death. Especially if they are 100b specced. Its actually insane ! although if I see a warr running at me with a greatsword I know fully what to expect a few timely dodges once their CD's are burnt their ass is mine ! :D

I have to say the dodging makes pvp extremely fun. It really adds some depth to how to attack and defend.

I haven't tried any tpvp yet that will be the next step but I imagine that being more fun if there are a grp of you on vent or what not.

I have been really enjoying the thief (lvl37) and my god the time justs flys, I have stacked heavly with condition damage and duration. I have 2 daggers equipped and all posions and every time i dodge i lay down some spikes that increases bleed and also slows.

I just watch the health go down and thats it. I am struggling for the second weapon set. Does any1 have any ideas on which I can do?
