Guild Wars 2

Im at 50% world discovered at level 50... Wonder what the rewards are like for 100% world map.

I got to level 80 with only 38% map completion. Pretty cool because I'll probably be able to level 2 more characters without duplicating much content! I have a friend who had 100% completion within about 10 days. Completely mad if you ask me as all you have left to do is grind tokens for rares and endless pvp. The rewards were apparently pretty good but I don't recall what they were off the top of my head.

Chances are I won't do alts too much, or will just pvp and do story quests for them anyway.

Well I am trying to think of an alt because I would like 2 different kind of classes/armor

My Main is an azura thief, I did try making an ele but I couldnt get to grips with the delay of the cast timers and the delay of the actual damge.

I have rolled a Norn Gaurdian So i will be going with 100% completion between the two.

How do you access the dungeons via story (or is that just the mail you get)

I think this game could do with some sort of tutorial (even if it's a simple video when you try crafting for the first time, or WvWvW)

So many features that people just don't know about (like the sending all materials to bank)

One feature that someone told me today that I've never seen mentioned is you can filter the crafting page to only show recipes that will get you exp, or ones that you have the materials for! How many other features have they programmed in but not conveyed them to the players?

There is a tutorial npc when you first enter WvWvW, I must admit though that I didnt bother to use him so I dont know how thorough that tutorial is. I just figured it out myself, with the exception of supply it wasnt all that different to Daoc for me so I didnt feel I needed to talk to the tutorial npc so I just carried on past him

To be honest, I found out most of the features, like the sending stuff to the bank etc, by clicking on stuff on the interface, one of the first thing I do in a new game is spend an hour or so just going over the UI checking out what everything is and does, though a tutorial , perhaps included in that very early "intro" section of play would be good too.

I think the problem I have is just how nonsensical some of their design decisions are, like how to get to PVP is a tabbed bar down the left of your hero page, yet how to get to WvWvW is a large button in the centre of a completely different screen. It feels like several different people designed the UI and didn't talk to each other at all. It would have made much more sense to just have a multiplayer box that displayed WvW stats, PvP stats and had buttons to join both.

Indeed, that would make sense

I have no real idea what I'm doing but enjoying trying to work it out. So far I have spent hours looking at waterfalls and following green arrows. The inventory system baffles me enough.. :D

Do tell... I have leatherworking recipes with names so long they go off the side so you can't tell if you have the mats for them unless you actually click on them, most annoying.
