I've been burned FAR FAR too many times by buying MMOs on day 1. I will wait for some player reviews and a few weeks of release before I buy.

that's the unfortunate thing, GW as you said was innovative, but the money is in the 'same old same old' wow clones, and as such, GW2 will end up pretty similar.
main negative changes from GW1 being..
Mob's/Foe's no longer appear on the radar (al-la LoTRO)
Armour/Weapons having durability (al-la almost every MMORPG game in existance)
Fast travel now costs in game currency
Seperate worlds
Several steps backwards I think.

But they're still far far better than WoW's![]()
...Technically - so credit to Blizzard's Art Team, because even without a fancy engine they still manage to make every other mmorpg's visuals look boring in comparison.

Guildwars has some visually stunning areas with some brilliant reflection of the amazing Multiple awarding winning concept art team that they have.

I guess the Hall of Monuments calculator killed Guild Wars for me. 45 points, I don't need to or plan to do any more.
Great game but they really neglected it over the years.
