Started guild wars again to see if I can get into it.

Got my old character, a lvl 5 monk warrior but started a fresh one.

Main skill is warrior and thinking Necro for secondary.

Any tips or advice to keep me going past the first few hours?

The first few hours are the most fun, if youre bored after that, delete it, it only gets worse.

Don't listen to that useless information. The first 10 hours at least are taken up by the tutorial. Personally, if you're going Warrior primary then I'd, and this is just me, go for Elementalist as secondary.

But its true, everytime I load it up now I stand there thinking "why am i bothering". I think seth was getting at the tutorial (pre sear) is the best.

I WANT to do EOTN and the mission bonus pack, but just cant be bothered :( I did just reinstall again to see what my 3rd bday pressie was. Got a beast of arrrgghhhhh! :)

If you do get into it though (with a decent active same level or helpfull guild) its a joy to play. Just too much standing doing nothing for me atm

Always liked W/R personally, beast mastery takes up some valuable skill slots but it's nice to have the help of a pet, plus you can apply poison to your hand weapons.

Otherwise W/Mo was always a tanking classic, whilst W/E is the best damage dealer.

Haha, I am a level 18 mesmer/monk, and just can't bring myself to grind up the last 2 levels! Think I'm gonna wait for GW2 to play it again.

I tried many builds, but I always went back to my War/Necro for PvP, main skills were Final Thrust and Grenths Balance, could take down a lot of other builds.

Although, Ele/Mes with Arcane Echo and Vapor Blade (I think?) was awesome sauce when the target had no enchantments, quick high damage.

I find it pointless to use a pet as a W/R, i usually run a Melandru's Resilience build anyway.

Otherwise W/Mo was always a tanking classic, whilst W/E is the best damage dealer.

W/Mo was better suited to farming melee creatures with the Cycolone axe, Triple chop, Vigorous spirit and Life Vicariously build but that was nerfed quite a bit with the group scattering. W/E is the new tanking king with Obsidian flesh etc.

I love my N/Me, though haven't played for ages. Only have the vanilla game, too.
I don't actually have any mesmer skills any more, my build is built purely around stealing health to keep me alive, which is also draining the enemies health anyway. Not really tried in PvP though.

Grind?

You can hit level 20 in 1 days play :|

GW is all about skills/builds.

Well, I am up to level 8 now in pre-searing, think I have done most of the quests other than the wall one, only because its a PITA trying to find someone willing to do it.

Couple of questions though:

Currently got 4 vials of dye, now I remember these selling very well last time I played but was wondering what a decent amount is for them! Seen them advertised for sale for 3-4K and people wanting to buy them for 150g.

Also, anyone know where I can get the krytan boots from in pre-searing? Already got the krytan leggings/gauntlets/cuirass from different collectors. Just can't find these ones!!

edit: is there also anyway to increase your energy? health increases with every level icnrease but energy stays at 20 :/

As mentioned depends on colour.

Also don't worry about that armour, the second you leave pre you'll buy stuff far better :)

dye colors: green, yellow, silver and brown.

after reading that link I know exactly where to get the armor, however the collector wasnt there. never mind!
