Guild wars

collector was there this time!

I am warrior (primary) and necro (sec)

However, just spent 25 mins trying to get someone to open the gate for me into the northlands but no joy so going to have a break!

get out of pre searing as quick as possible then you can have a level 20 show you around and help on quests etc :)

I played guild-wars for 6 months solid, very enjoyable game although I didn't like the standing around in town trying to get invited on a party before some of the tougher missions!

I thought I had mastered the PvE side of the game until one day I met a W/Mo in the desert town (the one where you ascend) he bought some stuff from me and we started chatting. After a short while he said "come watch this" and we formed a two man party and left town. As soon as we left town he asked me to get myself killed which I found quite strange but he persisted and I said ok and stood still while a big scorpion ate me! :o

So now I was dead I could watch him as a spectator and he run off and started killing *hoards* of Griffons by himself! My eyes nearly popped out as tons of items fell to the ground!

Up until that point I didn't really think it was possible to solo but he showed me all the skills needed and big me farewell!

And that was it I became a Farmer and made my Guildwars fortune clearing the desert of Griffons. Just never could get over all the items dropping and it wasn't until they nerfed the AOE spells that I stopped, found it strangely relaxing!

Atlas The Strong . . . Oct 2005

hehe i had a similar experience :)

then i found a build for a 55 nec/mo and tried that out, i found hydra's easier than griffons though, they are a lot more predictable :)

5 man fow runs on teamspeak2 or vent are awesome :)

I'm still playing after a good 3 years. :)

If you're serious about playing it for a while then finding a decent Guild is key. It makes it much quicker to find help for missions and is just a lot more fun in general having people to chat to and have a laugh with while you're playing.

Thats just not fair, i spent hours and hours farming those griffons with my 55 monk and not once did i get a fiery dragon sword.

Lol dug through my screenshots (yes I always save lots of photos from games I enjoy!) and found a photo of my farming-mentor, didn't know him from adam but he showed me how to really stack skills together and survive when playing solo, so respect to that stranger who I met in the desert! :)

Gw Was Great but now its just not the same and i dont know why, played it for age's even got FoW on my warrior.
FOW armour eh!

Wow you must have really played that game hard!!!!!!!!!

I stopped playing so much after a patch nerfed my farming habits lol, I had completed the game but still had not had chance to really sus out the other characters. I stuck with W/Mo and even playing that one single class I did not managed to use all the skills (so many skills and combos!).

I never finished either or the super-dooper hardcore maps The-Underworld and Fissure-Of-Woe I mean they were just insanely hard and I never managed to get on a really great party that would be needed to clear that map. I particularly loved the FoW with the undead dragon and loads of undead as I used Balthazars aura! :D

I also really enjoy the new areas that popped up (and new green items to farm) can't remember the name but it was full of evil dwarves and such like).

I finally fizzed out once the first expansion came along as I was overwhelmed kinda :(

what are the expansion packs like? Are any of them worth getting?
I'd be interested to know that too, really enjoyed the PvE side of the game, exploring new areas etc.

Hey Atlas, dont know if you remember me, Seth Marcus? Used to be in the godless, you taught me to griffon farm all that time ago :)

GW is indeed still a good game, still playing after 3 years. Id definitely say getting a good guild is key. And the new expansions are pretty good, especially EoTN and the end bits of NF. PvP is also fun, and with all the weekend events and updates, theres still tons of stuff to do.

If anyone wants to talk in game about anything, my IGN is Seth Marcus
