The gf got a guinea pig and named him **** as he looks like a racoon. Just been informed that term is also used as a racial/racist slur. Dammm you society. Would you change the name?
 
Hahahaa, you've just been informed...are you 13 and lived on a desert island for your life? :D

Keep him as '****' to be honset.
 
I have a mate who is a lorry driver. As you all probably know, many lorry drivers get a numberplate made up with their name/nickname to display in their windscreen. My mate worked with another lorry driver called Nigel. Now, Nigel is known to his mates as "Nidger". He got a numberplate made up to show this and it was spelt "******" People pointed out to him that is wasn't spelt quite right, but he just laughed it off and said that it read "Nidger" (as pronounced) So now this old bloke Nigel drives the length of the country, in all sorts of dodgy areas with a numberplate in his windscreen that reads "******"

...because of the PC pansies I would keep his name for that exact reason.

You chose the name because you liked it and did not know any other meaning, so keep it.
It is a guinea pig, no-one is going to protest outside your house:p.

You're not using it as a racial slur, or to incite/promote prejudice, so therefore, no, don't change it. Why give into fear?
 
Keep the name mate. If you are worried about the name offending....
