Guinness Surger

OK, three hours after I put the cans in the fridge, I dragged one out and surged it.

The effect is amazing. I should have photographed it but I was too busy being stunned by watching it work.

The can is widget free and as such, when it's poured there is no nead at all, it's just a glass of blackness but as you push the button and hear a high pitched whine, the goodness is done and it looks just like a freshly poured pint, settling perfectly.

I wonder if the batteries on my camcorder are charged ;)

Is the stuff in the tin still a bit stinking compared to a normal pint? How does the taste compare to the normal draught cans and pints? The free samples I had weren't bad but it's hard to compare since each one was barely a mouthful.

The effect is quite cool, I'll be getting mine tomorrow.

It could actually do with being a bit colder but the flavour is pretty good. It doesn't taste quite like the normal canned stuff, it is more like it's just come out of a pump in a pub.

Awesome
There's something about the video, maybe the sound of the washer/dryer in the background but I watched it twice, it's soothing. I'm going to watch it again.

I believe it's only the Tesco Extra stores that do it. I don't think you can get them anywhere else, according to the Guinness site anyway.

There's a very slight ticking noise in the background which is the unit itself, nothing else I know of.

I did a search on the Tesco online store earlier but they're not listed there. My local Tesco (which is a normal store, not an Extra) had loads of them.

It might be to do with the age checker thingy. Go to www.guinness.co.uk and enter the site as normal. There's a link to the Surger from there as well as a list of the outlets at which it is available.

Cool Video Feek.

I love guinnes but agree with people above that said it really tastes better from a tap than from a can.

The Surger thing looks cool but maybe it's jus tme being a tight student, but £15 odd for something just just appears to vibrate the drink a little seems steep - I could buy a lot of cans for that!
