Guitar Hero 5

Setlist looks pretty weak to be honest.

There's been so many Guitar Hero's and Rockbands now that the "cool" songs have all been used up... some of the best songs were on the first few GH's back on the PS2
 
Yeah I agree with Nikebee, setlist isn't exactly anything to write home about.

At least with GH3/WT there were enough good songs to make the game half decent, but it doesn't look so with the new one.
 
Tbh after playing Rock Band, Guitar Hero just feels like time wasted where i could have been playing Rock Band. I completely lost interest in the series after 3 and by the looks of it this one won't be winning me back.
 
personaly i think thechoices made are just wrong

stevie wonder superstition should be the stevie ray vaughan cover (with guitar)
and bob dylans watchtower isnt as GH as hendrixs version either, make it wit chu, a good QOTSA song, but has the the possiblity of being that easy song at the top of the setlist i will never play.

Theres plenty of awesome guitar marathon songs out there, imo Guitar hero songs should be guitar songs first and foremost, and band hero should be guitar heros answer to rock band, which it isnt as its aimed at the pop genre also, kings of leon sex on fire... what can i say.
i am a full blown GH fanatic, but rock band takes up like 80% of my band time these days as the dlc is far better than guitar hero
 
Obviously its guitar hero so will focus on the more rock side of things, but as a massive beastie boys fan they dont half pick the crappest beastie songs ever.

I can never understand this (this isn't a dig at you as such, just the general have a go at the GH Franchise that people have).

Each GH is a seperate game as such, and has new songs.
Yes some people could say that the GH franchise should adopt a similar approach to RB where songs are downloaded, but for about 30 songs for RB (which are about 160 points each), that's a total of 4800 points which roughly equates to £35.

So for an extra fiver, you're getting new songs, a new game, a new set of achievements (if you're an achievement whore), the lack of the "2 downloaded limit" that RB songs have, and 'ehancements' to the game all in a nice new box.

So can never really understand the 'milking it' comment.
 
Seems like there is some good tunes but nothing stupidly amazing tbh.

I'l prob still buy it as I always buy these games for more tunes to play :D

I do wish though GH would do more (good) DLC. I mean rockband have DLC (ok granted not always great DLC) every week.
 
I can buy what songs I want though so technically I could have 30 songs I really like and want to play compared to the chance I only like say half the ones on the disc. I have about the same amount of RB songs but yet only have 2 discs compared to 5 GH discs and most importantly I have a hell of a lot of more songs I want to play because I choose a fair chunk of them.

I don't necessarily think they are milking it but it is saturated purely because there are so many discs to choose from when you go into a shop, most of which aren't even cross compatible with each other DLC wise.

Am I missing something but where can I see what the new guitar looks like? I find myself collecting the guitar hero guitars rather sadly :$

Yeah the new guitar looks better imo.

They've improved the strum bar, and I zoomed in on the image on kotaku and it looked like the GH3 strumbar which would be totally awesome as I use a les paul as my default guitar :p
 
Set list on this is awful. I bought gh4 which was a big mistake, wont make that mistake again. Def sticking with RB, harmonix know what they are doing, they understand peoples wants. While im at it, Rockband 3, they are accepting requests for songs, they will try and get the highest voted ones so vote on the site.
 
Not the best set list by a mile, but there's a few in there that'd be nice to play.

Only 2 decent songs in that track list, one of which isnt even confirmed, what a crock.
So many decent tracks out there and they just ignore them and fill a dvd with garbage.
