Guitar Hero question

Got a PS3 for Christmas. Was planning on buying one, but my extra special mother just got me one. Main reason for blu rays, but thought I might try some games.

So then the kids keep on about Guitar Hero. I thought I might pick this up. what I'm wondering is if I buy the full pack with guitar and drums (or am I thinking of a different game) can I use the same equipment for all those music games.

I guess what I'm asking is where do I start with the guitar accessories and such. Not keen on any of the dedicated games such as Beetles or Aerosmith. Just want to be able to get the equipment and gradually add to the games. With 5 different versions out I'm assuming the guitar works with them all.

Guitar hero world tour / guitar hero 5 are the ones to get, they're compatable with rock band and beatles variations as well.

gotta admit, last week for the first time, I played them and have REALLY enjoyed them.

A local store was selling the game Legends of Rock and guitar for only $10 !!!!!! DEAL !!! So i just had to get it (well two actually at that price)

Not really a heavy rock person, and for Guitar Hero 3 Legends of Rock, is quite thrashy. Which is probably why I've stayed away all this time. But have still really enjoyed myself even with the fact that I do not like the music. Actually i've just ordered guitar hero world tour game only, cos the music is much more normal and will be more fun to play with..

Even the wife, who just completely ignores anything to do with gaming, for the first time in our 15yr relationship picked up the guitar and played non-stop for an hour..
