Aye, light ones are much nicer I think.
Playing things like "The Subways - She Sun" is much nicer with a 0.50mm and playing things like "Sweet Child O' Mine" is better with a 0.60mm. I feel like anything over 0.73mm is going to snap my strings.

i just find that i get a lot less "pick noise" using a lighter one. it's probably my technique but i can hear the pick striking the string if i use heavy ones.

all personal preference though, eh?

^ i find the total opposite of that, if i use light picks they bend and "flick" out onto other strings and click all the time. very irritating. almost as irritating as fret buzz :mad:

I find using the lighter picks make more noise while strumming tbh but when you're playing through an amp you don't really notice it anyway. It's probably all down to technique anyway.

i agree sidewinder - especially when im playing quitely it really gets annoying

i have a few metal pics which are great, very fast, but there are 3 problems...

1) strings get damaged quite quickly if your really laying into chords

2) as its metal on metal when volumes up high you can here the ping/click of contact a lot more then plastic

3) if they slip slightly out of your hand they stick to your pickups ( great place to keep them though lol)

Me too! Landstrom Sharfin whites for me (medium) and sometimes a thicker Dunlop Tortex one when I feel like I need a heavier pick (about 1.2mm or something).

The Sharkfins annoy me so much. If you scuff the strings or make a poor pick, you can end up accidently using the wobbly end, which sounds carp for.... everything? Although feel free to correct me.

Anything just below the 1mm seems to fit me best (A 0.72 is too thin). I think its all personal preference, no 'obvious' winners!

I've never had this happen to me. :confused:
