Hey guys

I am after some new guitar strings for my Les Paul, what are the best strings to buy for it?

Total noob when it comes to this sort of thing

Thanks! :)

It's mostly down to preference. I use D'Addario EXL125-3D (the 3D just means they're a pack of 3 string sets in one, they're cheaper that way). They're 9-46 gauge, so have a light top end for easy string bending, mixed with a slightly heavier low end so for example power chords sound like if you were using 10s.

i use D'Addario 11's but i play a 25.5" custom shop PRS replica tuned down a full step so the 11's take up the extra slack.

with you having a LP id advise atleast the 10's due to the scale length, but if your happy with your current string gauge take it into a guitar shop and ask them what size strings you have on they should have a micrometer to measure them.

remeber also if your changing your string gauge you may also need to change your action/truss rod but only if its a significant change in size

I am looking at 10 packs of Dean Markley 10-46 and I use them on my Les Paul, Fender Strat, Yamaha SG2000 and everything else.
They are the only strings I can ever remember using in 39 years.
