As title really. To those guitarists among us, what song or tab are you currently trying to learn? If possible please link to an online guitar tab.

The current song i'm trying to learn is:

Funeral For A Friend - Roses For The Dead.

Linky (PowerTab)

It's slightly tricky, mainly due to the tempo.

I'm trying to learn Dragonforce - Through the fire and flames
I have learnt the Intro but can't play the solo this is just played too fast for me.

I'm also learning go with the flow by QOTSA. This is going quite well and I can nearly play the song the whole way through.

absolutely nothing. dont have time at the moment. i keep meaning to learn Polaris by Jimmy Eat World, and do an acoustic version of Head Automatica's Beating Heart Baby.

not terribly difficult, i hear you cry...but the singing is the tricky bit.

I can't sing and play at the same time to save my life, so good luck with that Sic. :)

Myself, I've finally been getting to grips with Incubus - Drive. I'd always put it off because I couldn't get the hang of it, but I thought I'd try it again a few days ago. It's actually a hell of a lot easier than I thought it was, since it's only two parts constantly repeated, which I never realised. It's just the speed that's bothering me, it's marginally faster on the track than I can play it at. Odd really, since I learnt the acoustic version of Pardon Me years ago, and that's actually a far harder song to play.

Also taught myself to play Be Quiet and Drive properly (ie. correct strumming) yesterday, and I fiddled with Change earlier, which is the easiest of the lot.

I've linked to online tabs, but I've been using Guitar Pro tabs myself, which are far better.

I learned Drive about half a year ago. Isn't too difficult once you get to grips with it to be perfectly honest. I think it's lovely to play though.
I never bothered learning The Pixies - Where Is My Mind? for a long time as it just looked too difficult. But I just had a go the other night and I realised it's quite easy really.

How long have you been playing Jasper? I don't think you said.

If you can play half that song then I will take my hat off to you sir, they are a quality band and that track is a killer

I'm re-learning some old Pantera stuff (VDOP era) and some proper Metallica stuff (RTL/MoP), no particular reason other than it's stuff I cut my teeth on :)

I can't play half the song yet, it's too hard for me to play. :(
So far I can only play the intro and the chords used in the song. I've tried some of the solo's but I mess up and it sounds rubbish.

I'm learning Satch Boogie by Joe Satriani at the moment. Never got around to it before and I'm enjoying it immensely; great piece of music to play on guitar :).

Phil.

bit of a few songs on the go on bass

the struggle within - metallica
pull harder on the strings of your martyr - trivium
and just started dismiss the cynic - in flames

Awesometastic! It's proper hard to get it grooving.

December Flower - In Flames. Its taking a while, I'm (trying) learning the leads, and passing on the rhythm parts that I know to the other guitarist, but its slow going.

Damn its fun to play though.

We pretty much nailed Only For The Weak at our last practice.

Aside those 2 songs, I'm not personally looking for anything new to learn, just trying to get tighter as a band.

.

that's what i do...play and sing :) once you learn it for a few songs you can pretty much just do it.

also, the tab you have for drive there is wrong. i cant link to the correct one because i memorised it looking through a music book :o but that's wrong. if you want to grab me on MSN at some point i'll talk you through the proper version (except the solo...i dont play ANY solos)

i also love playing pardon me. one of my favourite songs to play and sing together :)

Cool track, the other guitarist and I used to (fairly loosely) jam to Summer Song when setting up at practise 'cause it gives you a fairly decent warm up and is fun to play too :)

It's alright, like I said, I don't actually use any of those tabs I linked to, I use different Guitar Pro tabs (that I'm pretty sure and perfect). I just linked to those because I thought it would probably be easier for other people than linking to a tab they'd need to download a seperate program to see. :)
